    makes a fabulous gentle face & body scrub when mixed to a paste with some water...its a lot like the Dermalogica daily microfoliant but won't cost you £25.....

  • Ground Rice Biccies

    1 egg
    125 grammes butter
    1 cup (8 fl oz) plain flour
    1/2 cup (4 fl oz) ground rice
    2/3 cup (5 fl oz-ish) caster sugar

    Beat the butter and sugar then add the beaten egg. Sift in the flour and add ground rice. Knead until smooth. Refrigerate for 30 mins. Roll into a sausage shape and cut into 1cm thick rounds.
    Bake in a moderate oven (350F/180C/Gas Mark 4) for about 12 mins.

  • I did exactly the same thing 2 weeks ago in Morrisons.

    Fancied some a bit earlier, only me so had to make a small portion.

    Put 1 oz of ground rice and 1 dessertspoon of sugar in a jug with 1/2 pint milk. Whisked with a hand whisk, cooked for 2 mins, stirred and cooked for a further 2 mins.

    Tipped into a bowl and added 2 dessertspoons of dried apricots and raisins. Yum yum.

  • I make this ground rice cake
    8 oz margarine
    8 oz sugar
    3 eggs
    4 oz plain flour
    3 oz self-raising flour
    3 oz ground rice
    1/2 tsp almond essence

    cream margarine and butter together
    add eggs
    then fold in flours and ground rice
    Add almond essence
    cook at 150c for 1-1 1/2 hours

    That sounds like the old Rice Creamola....I wish I could recreate the recipe for that stuff, it was scrummy!

    Ooooh, another rice creamola fan here :D I so wish they would start making it again!
    Ive made my own with ground rice or semolina mixed with some custard powder (before adding to the milk), but its not quite the same.

    I love rice creamola too,real comfort food.
    Try as I may I've never been able to recreate the taste either.
    I bet its something realy simple as well :rotfl:.
