UKPC Parking Charge Issued Office Car Park

That may well work. But you'll have lost the chance to appeal to POPLA, that's all.
If their system shows the X, then when they apply for keeper data they will get a "not known". If however they work out the mistake they'll get the lease co's data and then the lease co will pay.
It's a big risk I think. But it could work.Although a practising Solicitor, my posts here are NOT legal advice, but are personal opinion based on limited facts provided anonymously by forum users. Your responsibility
On receipt of the parking notice which Alphabet have transferred to you, as the driver of the vehicle related to the parking charge, your options are to either make
payment or appeal the charge if appropriate.
Important note:
Should you choose to ignore this notification and Alphabet are contacted with a second notice (often for an increased amount) we will pay the charge and recharge the amount to you
to prevent further escalation. We may charge an administration fee for doing this.
Therefore it is your responsibility to keep Alphabet informed if your address changes, such as when moving home
[/INDENT]Re the bit in bold. Can you see the worrying possibility here? If UKPC are aware of this policy, brazenly writing again with an increased charge to Alpabet leasing will surely make it easy pickings for them, whether the leasee has ignored the PCN or not.
I see where they can play clever here. So long as Alphabet pass my details on and I don't ignore that Notice they have no reason to pay. Surely I would have a cause to seek a refund if Alphabet deem it fit to pay a fine were UKPC to lie and say that i have ignored the notice after Alphabet pass my details on.
there is a mixture of advice here which is confusing me, some have said ignore as they have the wrong registration and await the NtK others have said 'Appeal' now to prevent Alphabet paying - Alphabet have told me that they will not pay a private PCN they will merely pass my details on.0 -
UKPC always 'adjust' the VRN to issue a NTK. ALWAYS. This happens a lot.
So there will be a *new* notice by post after just over a month.
So I would send the usual appeal but by letter, on day 21 (to make sure it arrives). Put the PCN number at the top but not your VRN in the heading...leave that detail out.
NO. NOT on that basis. Use the template from the NEWBIES thread. It is intended to appeal on the basis that there is a valid permit albeit not displayed issued.
Good, but not good enough just over the phone (if this was just said verbally) as this will not help you later if some clerk goes back on that.Alphabet have told me that they will not pay a private PCN they will merely pass my details on.
So, URGENTLY and in writing (email is best, to show a trail of replies) warn Alphabet that an unwarranted private PCN that is already under appeal by you as HIRER/LESSEE, might mean that they receive a Notice to Keeper in September.
And if they do, they can just pass it to you as you've already appealed (show proof). Or, Alphabet can if they prefer, name you as HIRER /LESSEE (not driver of course, it's not possible for them to state that) and you will then receive your own Notice to Hirer and will win the POPLA appeal.
Under no circumstances is it to be paid by Alphabet, even if they get a second letter - state that you forbid this to happen and will not recompense Alphabet for any mistake in this regard, and will simply put into dispute and reverse any payment taken from your credit/debit card.
It is vital to win this as hirer/lessee (not driver) as that's 100% winnable at POPLA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for that. I will do that today via email as the 28 days to appeal expires today.
I’ll use the one in the newbies thread and not the one for hired cars so as to no inform them that the car was hired/Leased0 -
Sorry I should add they only allow you to appeal by post or via their online platform. So sending an email doesn’t seem like an option.
By completing the form online, you must give them the incorrect VRN.0 -
So I would put in the incorrect VRN! Do it online today and call yourself the keeper.
I agree, stay silent about the fact it's leased (at the moment) and silent about the VRN.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Picking up on this, I have received a letter dated 29 Augsut 2018 from UKPC after I appealed in accordance with the template on the Newbies thread.
They have given me 14 days to provide the driver's full name and address in order for them to 'make a final decision regarding my appeal'.
they have stated that 'failure to provide the information will result in the registered keeper being liable for the parking charge as per the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012'
they go on to state that 'at this stage a POPLA verification code will not be provided'.
Anyone able to advise on options moving forward. I know they will realise their mistake when trying to find the registered keeper and issue a note to Alphabet who may well discharge if UKPC tell porkies. I have written to Alphabet about this issue and I have 'put them on notice'.
Presumably, I shouldn't provide driver's details and demand that they issue a POPLA Code. what grounds do I have?
I am waiting on the Managing Agent and the Freeholder to return my call.0 -
The advice on here is to NOT give driver details. There is no requirement in law for you to do so. Wait for your POPLA code.0

UKPC are and have always been a bunch of crazzies
We do know they are fraudsters
Suggest you get Steve Clark of the BPA to sort out UKPC
and re-train them

In this instance, I can then go back via their portal and say unless they can provide statutory authority requiring me to provide details of the driver, I will not be doing so and would reiterate my request for the POPLA Appeal Code.
This should suffice right?0
