Shower Curtain become yellowish is wear and tear

  • Exactly - the landlord shouldn't have a problem with buying a new one at all. After all, the tenant has been paying rent to use it.

Yes, i did not intend to damage the shower curtain. it just become yellowish after almost 2 years of everyday using it.
When I move in, they also buy a cheap one.

That's your problem then, just letting it dry naturally, it will be full of mould/damp spores causing the discolouration. You've failed to keep it adequately cleaned so have caused it to discolour. You can try washing it with some bleach but it may already be too late for that and will leave it patchy. As others have said a basic white shower curtain can be bought for £5, possibly even just £1 in a pound shop.

How do you dry yours then?

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Budget hotels just bin and replace shower curtains rather than faff around trying to clean them.

And we wonder why we have a bit of a plastic problem.

Use a cloth to wipe it everything after shower.

Black spots are mould-caused by inadequate ventilation.
The risk with not replacing it is that the LL will charge a tenner for the curtain, and £30 for someone to fit it.

So now, i had hand in the key as the tenancy end last Friday. Inventory clerk last friday and I waiting for report.

Can i still buy a shower curtain and pass to Letting Agent?

Would you seriously do that with a cheap shower curtain? Very admirable of you. I need some help with household duties. I do it with shower glass when I think about it but it's hard wiping down a curtain with a cloth, it keeps moving :D

Shower curtains are gross anyway. They always try to climb inside the shower and stick to you. Screen every time.

I just bung my shower curtain in the washing machine with the towels once in a while. Keeps it clean and they last for years. Woven nylon type.
