Evening Frugal Friends,
Rubbish night's sleep - am quite high on the Stressometer atm due to Mum being in hospital & the stand-offs re social care which lie ahead. Managed to get a fair bit of stuff done, considering.
*Made a batch of bread rolls & a pizza (& yes, it did have a courgette on it - with goat's cheese, red onion & fresh basil. V nice!
*Picked beans, 71st cucumber, tomatoes &.......courgettes.
*Two baths from 1 lot of water then bailed it out onto flower beds so as not to feel too guilty about using hose just on the veg.
*Packed this week's preserves (redcurrant jelly & pickled courgettes) away in the pantry.
*Did next week's meal plans, wrote shopping list & did an online order in case this weekend is chaotic (Mum has to change hospitals if there's a bed).
*Online order was under budget so added 3 items for emergency stores.
*Knitted more of current item for presents box.
*Track calorie intake - really noticing how much longer food supplies are lasting.
*Sorted out greenhouse which involved a fair bit of bending & stretching so a bit of free fitness too.
Taken some valerian tablets tonight so hoping to sleep a bit better.

eurgh! Need to clear out the larder as think we have mice again  debating whether to get traps and poison rather than calling out someone. Seeing as it happens every couple of years it makes sense. But :eek::eek::eek: the thought of it! done - no sign of mice at all but we definitely heard something in there last night, and oh did the day before. Really confusing! Any ideas?
Can you get a cat share? To check for activity, sprinkle flour in there and check the next day for fresh tracks.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

Morning all :hello: sending virtual hugs foxgloves thinking of you and hope your mum is on the mend soon.
A short list today as we are away for the next few days for a family wedding. However, no new outfits bought, we have plenty of wearable items already. We're staying s/c so will take some basics with us
2 quick loads of washing before we go and peg on the line
Pop for some cat food just to be sure there is enough for cat whilst away
Quick flylady round before we go
Check banking
Move interest to savings

Morning everyone!
These past few days have been rather busy. The boy has been to football camp the past two days, 10am-2pm which only cost £5 a day and he thoroughly enjoyed. He would like to go again next week so I will book him in for two days again along with his friend.
I have finally completed my work portfolio that I've been putting off for weeks. I've spent the past two days getting it all right and went into work to print it off (to save my own ink :rotfl:). Whilst there I saw a couple of my colleagues who were checking up on me and I just told them that I was fine and will be back in a couple of weeks. It was such a relief to get it all done. Some people did question me and ask what brought my depression on but I didn't really have any answers and couldn't explain why.
Yesterday we went to our local indoor climbing place with my cousin and her daughter. We then went for pizza for dinner afterwards and with the tastecard my cousin had, saved 50% off our bill so my half came to £15.00 which I thought was good for what we had.
I've yet still to sort out the boys clothes but I'm hoping to do that today after the boy finishes his ice skating. He's then having a friend come round to play, I'm not sure what I will do for their lunch. I may take them McDonalds as a treat and then take them to the park for a kick around with a football, then back to ours for them to play. The boy has asked it they can to to an indoor play area but I'm undecided on this just yet.
I've ordered another dress for my cruise which should hopefully come today and I'll try it on later on. If it doesn't fit, I'll just send it back.
I'm still awaiting on a refund from the parcel (which had the tent) from last week. There has been no update so I'll try to phone them later.
I also need to sort out our travel insurance so will do that at some point either today or over the weekend. I'll make sure to haggle to get a good bargain.
Anyway I hope everyone has a lovely day. It sounds like we have plenty to keep us busy.Chandelier.

Have phone and got registered with a NHS dentist :money: very sad to be leaving mine, she has been amazing and helped me so much with my dental phobia but they stopped doing nhs in the last 6 months. But I do not want to pay £330 per year for mine and madam 's dental plan!DF as at 30/12/16

My dentist went private years ago DNMS, and availability of NHS treatment is very sparse round here
Having said that, I don't have a 'dental plan' but pay as I go, and for a 6 monthly checkup and (needed) hygienist treatment every 4 months, it costs about £250 a year. Obviously it would be more if I needed more treatment though. Private dentists round here all treat children for free on the NHS, and some also offer this service to people on benefits.
I don't seem to have done much yet
It is very hot again!
But I have:
Checked banks and updated spreadsheet
Listed an item on local FB selling page and it sold straight away, picking up tomorrow (hopefully)
Done a load of washing, now out drying on line
Made a big pot of bolognese. Used various things from freezer such as chopped peppers and mushrooms, which had been rescued and frozen during previous fridge triage sessions, so it really is worth doing this
Washed out 2 freezer bags and pegged on line to dry, ready for reuse
Weeded front of raised bed
Still to do:
Wash and iron a top that I don't wear, to see if it is worth ebaying
Put some sales stock away
Clean bathroom floor
Pick and wash spinach, and anything else that needs picking in the garden
Watering later
Hope everyone is having a good day

foxgloves I hope ur mum will be okay, sending hugs to you
Not much done here except some much needed housework.
Slowly sorting out the bits in the living room as it's still a tip. At this rate the new settee will def be here before the decorating is done. Some bits brought upstairs to be used and some decluttering done
Banking all checked, everything good and d.debits ticking over nicely.
Parcel posted this morning
Still not completed spends book but have done a bit more
Food from stores. Have been planning food for next week as starving student DD is back home on monday. Have lots of bits to go in use up meals
Think that's about it from me.
Have a great evening everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Evening my little pina coladas,
Thanks for your kind wishes re my Mum. No hospital bed available yet so she is still in London. She rang me today & sounded about 150 times more cheerful than I expected, so despite tricky times ahead, my stress levels dropped a bit. Unfortunately the headache I woke up with still managed to pound for another 3 hours! So was there any frugal activity today?
*NSD. Went to support a local charity morning & yakked so much I forgot to buy even a cup of coffee!
*Free fitness cycling up to the event - 3 miles....tho in this heat, it probably did more to improve the wobbly thighs than the pounding headache.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch & breakfast.
*Knitted (for presents box).
*Sent complaint no. 2 to company which took my money 3 weeks ago but has failed to provide the goods.
That's all for today. I've spent the rest of it feeling sorry for myself for feeling unwell.
Hoping for a more productive day tomorrow.
