    Hi
    Thank you for your reply
I phoned them and they said yes they should have paid already but the gent who answered the phone did not inspire me with confidence and could not say when they would confirm in writing
Phone again on Monday and hope to speak to someone less frightened of his own shadow.

If you cannot get anything definitive, you must plough on as though this is going the full distance. CEL are noted for pulling stunts that leave defendants stranded and with an even bigger mess to unravel.

Keep on top of this, you can't afford to risk sleepwalking into a judgment in default.

I am working this weekend on my witness statement which is due in next 2 weeks ? Still worth doing?
Yes, until you get absolute confirmation that the case is not going ahead.

It is reported on here from time to time that courts do allow late payments without issue.
  • Thank you all for the advice
    Will do so
  • Delighted to be writing this post today
Just got home and there is a letter from the court saying the hearing for next week has been vacated and claim struck out
CEL didn't pay the fee or send me their paperwork
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who helped me
Many months of stress and anxiety are over now
Lesson learnt and I am very very careful when I park the car anywhere nowadays just annoyed that the parking rules were changed in a place where I had parked for over 6 years without penalty, restaurant didn't make it clear and CEL didn't want to hear this
Thank you all again and best of luck to everyone still going though this
  • Well done missy! That's great news, congratulations!

The paranoia you develop when parking in any car park will ensure you avoid any major stress should you marginally fall foul of the t&cs that will bring you months (potentially years) of crap in dealing with a PPC caim.

You've managed to get this monkey off your back relatively easily. But they don't all come by that easy.
