With an Issue Date of 17th July and the AoS having been done in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 20th August 2018 to file your Defence.
That's three weeks to hone your Defence to perfection.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as described here:
1) Print your Defence.
2) Sign it and date it.
3) Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
4) Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
5) Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
6) Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defended". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
7) Wait for the Directions Questionnaire and come back here.0 -
Hi
is it worth it to put a SAR request to CEL to get all information on my case?
Thanks0 -

Some people prefer to go to court without the paperwork in front of them as guessing what was on it makes court so much more fun (and expensive)

Hi
Can anyone let me know, after one submits the defence what is the average time that you hear back to have to prepare your witness statement?
Many thanks0 -
probably weeks or months , depending on the court date
when you get the DQ you will know the details you seek
the BARGEPOLE post does tell you about these procedures, but nobody can tell you how busy your local court and judges are0 -

About 20 weeks. A case is deemed OOT ("out of time" with regards to the courts' SLA) if it is more than 30 weeks between date of issue of the claim and the date of hearing. Hi
Just a quick query
I received a court hearing date for the end of January
I checked with the court and cel have not paid within the 28 days required
Does that mean the case is dismissed? Can they still pay the fee late?
I tried to log in the mcol website but the password does not seem to work
Will the court write to confirm case dismissed?
I am working this weekend on my witness statement which is due in next 2 weeks ? Still worth doing?
Any help will be much appreciated
Thank you0 -
You need to phone the court.0

Why not go direct to the horse's mouth to get the absolute answers to these questions? Phone the court on Monday morning. There's often not a definitive answer available from a random forum. Especially one that isn't, nor does it purport to be, a legal forum.Does that mean the case is dismissed? Can they still pay the fee late?

Will the court write to confirm case dismissed? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
