  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

It started to rain late yesterday evening, not sure if it continued all night but the slabs at the back are wet, its very grey and freeeezing cold.......its down by more than 10c this morning, so back to trousers and jumpers.

I took my medication last night and did manage to sleep pretty well, was awake once in the night and then at 7 ish. lay in bed reading till 8.30.......shoer and breakfast. I had a melon so have cut half, cut the flesh out and have put some in a container to take in for OH this afternoon.

Step son rang just after 8pm OH has been moved and thank the lord its nearer the car park........not so far for me to walk, I will try and park as close as I can to the entrance. Bag packed with extra bits he asked for. Have tried to ring the ward and cannot get an answer so will try again later.
  • I have just come off the phone with DD. She had the police hammering on her door at 1.30 this morning wanting to speak to eldest DGD (13)! DD was in a right state wanting to know why! It turns out one of her school friends (though not a very close friend) has run away from home to meet her boyfriend who lives somewhere in Essex. The police wanted details of any social media messages or texts she had from her. It turns out this "boyfriend" has a young daughter so goodness knows how old he is! Needless to say her parents are demented as you can imagine. She's 14 yo. The police rang this morning with more questions but DGD hasn't been able to tell them anything which might help find her. There's always a worry for someone isn't there.

DD and the girls are going to the caravan today till Thursday evening. Such a shame the weather has broken but Paul the Weatherman says the sun will return on Tuesday. Hope he is right we have had enough rain now! It's still falling steadily here. If JACKIE still wants rain down in Kent I will happily send her some!

    Morning all

Its been raining most of the night and its supposed to be set in for the day, its still really hot and muggy though so we have the windows and back door open which is letting a nice breeze through.

Last night was a brilliant evening over three hundred people sitting round with picnics wine etc and a brilliant band playing, it was such a nice evening and a two min walk away :D

Not sure what we are doing today we would normally be pottering in the garden and having a bbq tonight but the rain has stopped play!

Gers I do hope your dear mum is ok and this is not the end of her independence as you fear xx

TA that's terrible my dd works in the field of child abuse and you would be amazed how many young girls run away to be with a 'boyfriend' who is actually an older man, it makes my blood boil

    Have good days all xx

We've had rain :j. Everything from drizzle to hailstones and it's still persisting it down. I hope it's enough to put out the fires, top up the reservoirs and soak the gardens, then it can go away again :rotfl:
Well it's Sunday so the usual applies, roast pork loin, roast potatoes, veg and gravy :D. I don't know if Dad will come over in this rain, although it is easing up as I type. I have sorted the pots and veg and made the apple sauce from 2 granny smiths, which have been in the fruit bowl for ages. The pork is already in the oven. Mr Fix It has been busy and hoovered through downstairs, I think he's a keeper :D

This afternoon we want to watch the end of the tour de france, to cheer on a fellow welshman, Geraint Thomas. Don't suppose Dad will like that because he says it's like watching paint dry and he thinks they are stupid to ride so close to each other ! Er....... it's a race ! Well, we have to put up with having the athletics on for him, so today it's our turn to dictate the TV viewing.
I shall send many hugs to everyone, especially those who are poorly or caring for them, or just plain fed up.
    Take care all.
    nan xx

  • Gers sorry to hear that your Mum is making very slow progress, I think another Drs visit is in order for both your sakes.

Managed eventually to get through to the ward OH is on, the staff nurse was foreign and could not understand that OH's surname was also a christian name. I finally got him to understand, he went off to find out, said he was OK what ever that means and had smiled at him!! Hey ho, I will be off shortly to find out for myself.

AOD maybe there was some in depth wasp experiment going on which you have spoilt :D My issue atm is those horrid little fruit flies so the vinegar and apple is out and I have had a good catch overnight.

Anyway have a good sunday all and enjoy the rain

No, I waited before dealing with the wasp until DS came down to use the loo. Wasp was left for me to deal with, probably because it might have stung him. So not an in-depth insecty experiment.

DM home from her hols, had a good time but is tired and says she won't be taking holidays abroad again. Somehow I doubt that. Now she is househunting. She's been pipped at the post for one she liked but it was on the first floor, no lift and she has mobility difficulties so perhaps just as well. She is not pleased though.

AOD I *might* depending on the circumstances manage to trap a wasp under a glass, but there's no way I'd be able to actually deal with it further, as I am allergic to wasp venom - and therefore terrified of the nasty little things.

I am not allergic LW at least not to wasps, I do have a very strong reaction to mozzie bites. I'm terrified of wasps but have tried hard not to let it show. So how DS thought I'd like to deal with it is beyond the wit of woman.

Why is my OH whistling theTwelve Days of Christmas?

I must marinade this poor dead bird now.
