Peugeot car key extortion!

Bought a little Peugeot 108 from a dealer. No second key. This month lost the key and now quoted over £2,500 for replacement! Surely these cars shouldn’t be sold unless there is a second key? Can anyone help?

Or perhaps they shouldn't be bought without a second key.
  • Her first car, first time at a dealership. I!!!8217;m looking for advice not judgements
  • Join a Peugeot forum, you will probably find a cheap way to replace the key.
Call a local auto locksmith and get a quote as well.

The problem is you have lost the master key and it will need re-coding.

    Good luck

Did you get the keycode card when you bought the car? presumably the dealer says they cant obtain the code and are planning on replacing keys, locks and BCM.

If I were you I'd cross post you rinitial enquiry on http://www.peugeotforums.com

Well actually I doubt the £2500 is for a replacement key. It's more likely for a whole new set of locks, ECU reprogramming and then the cost of a set or replacement keys and programming.

Has she tried claiming off her insurance, either car or house?

Dont let them get under your skin, you will soon learn to ignore it
People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

Previous owner should be on the log book. Long shot, but try contacting them to see if they still have a spare.
