Hi Lilmiss,
The empty suitcase is a brill idea, i did that too as we went to the outlet place which is a coach ride from New York City, about an hour, but really worth going, great shops there.
We went for a week, but 5 days is plenty as you can probably get all the tourist bits done in a couple of days, and then spend the rest of the time shopping :-)
Definately do the new york helicopter trip, brilliant. We booked ours with this company, and they are really good and good price too http://www.libertyhelicopters.com/
If you have any questions let me know as i've been to NYC loads of times.0 -
Ooooo helicopters. Scary!
I wanna go see a Broadway show
I would like to go for a week just not sure if we could afford it.Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Thought i should do an entry as of to Reading Festival tomorrow.
Nothing really exciting has happened on the money front, next loan payment is 28th then will only have £598.40 of debt, going to save £150 this month from wages and then when i get paid on 25th September another £150 so can pay off loan 1 month early.
Its not a lot but better than nothing.
Then the saving can begin!I am in two minds as to whether to go splurge the next pay day or just start saving, will see how i feel at the time i guess, if we make it to New York that will be a big treat though and i need about £3000 for that

Oooo have fun at the Reading festival lilmiss. I hope the weather is a bit more summer like when you go.
Brilliant news about the debt, not long now then !! yay!!!
If your thinking about maybe having a big splurge on clothes then wait until New York, you will get lotss more for your money and better stuff too.

I am back, clean and have had a lovely nights sleep in a bed :rotfl:
I spent about £100 this weekend which wasn't too bad, the food is such a rip off, £10 for 2 trays of chips and 1 sausage in each was a good example
I kept saying to Nick Mr Lewis wouldn't be proud of me
I had fun though but not sure i will go again, definitely not next year anyway as been 3 years in a row now plus you really need to go in a group i think to really enjoy it.
I got paid on Friday which i was hoping i would as i shouldn't have actually been paid until 25th but we normally get paid on the Friday if it falls on a weekend/holiday.
I have been up since 8am tidying the house as the boiler man is supposed to be coming today to service it, i have no idea what time hes coming though, just PM.
Luckily its dry and fairly sunny today too as i am washing all the muddy smokey clothes
I am gonna go work out this months money then post again once done. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
I have just worked out how much money i have left over after bills and food this month and its......£30.57p
I wanted to put £150 aside for the loan but looks like i will just have to pay off the last payment from next months pay.
Nick gave me £40 to pay off an extra charge on his car insurance but i spent that at Reading (on top of the £80 i actually spent) so i had to pay that off today, put £40 on my clubcard plus for food this week and paid in £20 to cover money i borrowed that my Dad paid in for my loan and then i spent £39 in Primark on some winter clothes so that was £140 today gone.
Thank god i don't have any social life planned this month as i have £1 a day to live on until next pay day now!
On a better note Scottish Power reduced my direct debit by £6.50 this month as our bill was low, which is good but then again they have hiked there prices by 50%
I also need to ring Churchill as they have set up a new DD for Izzy's insurance but i haven't had any renewal info yet, will probably swap to get some cashback anyway. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Lilmiss i'm sure you will be able to do it - your really good when you only have a little bit of money to last you. Have you got any stuff you could sell? boot sale maybe before Autumn is upon us.
Is Izzy your cat?
What will your debt total be once the payments have gone through? seeing the small amount will be that extra push to help you live of £30 in September. Its all worth it!0 -
Izzy is my girl cat, I also have a boy called Spencer
My loan goes out on 28th and will then only have £598.40 left of debt (2 loan payments) so i can't wait to update my signature i just really want to clear it all by beginning of October.
I am sure i can cope on the £30 its just a bit scary and means no more fun for the next month although if i pay off the last loan payment next month i won't be having fun then eitherNow a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0
