As I still have two old routers, that are both working, I thought I would try them, and see what happens with the printer and logging into the router.
When a wifi printer is connected to a different router you must reset the network configuration of the printer each time. I assume you know how to do this.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

Hi grumpycrab, to be honest, no I do not know how to reset the network config.
All I did, was instal the router, checked my iPad, which detected my router.
I then tried to set WiFi up on the printer, but could not with both older ones, using the display on the front of printer, all I got was, not connected, tried using Wps, and manual .
the Hp app video says how to set up network.
Go to settings on iPad, click WiFi, select network, in my case, TT****, and that is it., which is what I did, umpteen times.
Perhaps I have not configured correctly?
I would appreciate advice on how, if what I have done is wrong, probably is.:)

Put the latest one back one, and the printer says connected and gives me an IP address, and blue light static on. But, will not print even though I have done so in the past, even with this router, so assumed it was configured correctly, until recently.

Have you any idea why I cannot access the new router, or why the older ones are saying, incorrect info.
As I said, admin, admin is not exactly hard to type in.
To be honest, I am totally at a loss.

Further to last post.
Last week, after I noticed that printer was not printing, and losing connectivity,I managed to get it to connect, long enough to print a printer status report.
This is the connectivity settings on it.
1. Network status:ready.
2.active connection type::wireless
3.url:http://192.********
4.hostname:hp867dc7
5:adminpassword:not set.

I have the full page of the status report, how many pages printed1338
I deduced from that info that I was network set up correctly.
Perhaps I am wrong?
Now, I cannot even get anything.

Sounds like more of a printer issue rather than router...check you don't have Wifi Direct active on the printer. Had this wth various HPs, but once you know about it....

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

Hi Gunjack, we meet again.
Thanks for reply.
WiFi direct is not active.
Like you, I think it is more likely to be the printer than the router.
On it most of the night.
I managed to access the router, a couple of hours ago, and did as TT rep on their blog advised, added two letters to the 5ghz band, ssid,so I have two networks to select from.
Tried the 2.4ghz, still no joy with printer.
It has the static blue light, saying WiFi connected, but, app can not locate it?
Tried 5ghz, had to put WiFi PW in, but had trouble accessing internet, but ok now.

On both connections, 2.4and5, the printer is saying connection successful using IP 169.254.125.199. I do not know where this IP address comes from, they are all 192.168 in the router ?
Just googled it, and it says it is in a reserved range, whatever that means?

I have managed to locate the setuphp3050a on my networks,by restoring printer to default settings, but, when I choose that, I was able to print, but, it became an insecure network ?
I only printed one page as a test, so do not know if I could do much ?
Still naffling, trying anything, but doubt there is anything that will work,it suggests to me, a network problem, but, what, I have no idea.
I have done everything by the Hp book, and more.
The only thing I have not tried, is connecting using a pin it gives on display, not sure how or where you type it in, no keyboard on printer ?
Might give it a go, if I find out how.
I do not know if this new router will come, heard nowt since ?

Seems it was another duff d-link router that was the problem!
Two on the trot.
I dug out my old ,aol,Huawei router, pressed WPS,and the printer kicked in straight away.
It is an Huawei that TT is sending me, he claims they are better for WiFi than D-link!
They must have had a lot of d-link routers returned, crap!
Cheers all, thanks for input:beer:

In defence of D-Link, their retail products have been consistently good for a long time now. The problem is when they produce routers to spec for an ISP which are always inferior to their own kit.

Anyone remember the awful ISP-specced 2640R? That even used an inferior and cheaper chipset than the brilliant retail 2640B it was based on. I still have three 2640Bs in use in various places, and another in the spares drawer ;)

*Side note*

IP addresses that start with 169.254.###.### are used when a Device can't see or access the DHCP service on a network.

It assigns itself an address in the 169.254.#.# range so it's got something other than 127.0.0.1 to use.

So if multiple devices on the same network can't access a DHCP service, it's still possible to "see" each other on a network in some limited fashion.

Thanks for replies, guys, just hope the new Huawei router, works.
I thought it was a new printer.
For the amount I use it, probably would not have bothered.
It is just handy when you want something straight away.
I used more ink just maintaining it, ready for new ink now.
