    Take a look here.
Although the Printer is "AirPrint" comptatible it seems this printer requires n initial USB connection to set up WiFi. You might need to redo this to get it to work properly:

Failing that you might need to use the ePrint app:

    Hi Solitaire, thanks for that.
Will read all you have linked to see if it helps!
My printer was WiFi set up using cable, from my laptop, which I no longer have, it went kaput.
I only use I-pad now, good enough for what I do.
I always used it via cable when I had laptop, but, it would also print WiFi from laptop or I-pad, for about 4-5 years now.
I did a lot of printing, until laptop bust, but rarely print at all now, but, it is handy to be able to do so.
I have printed quite a few photos of my new great grandson, during the last 6 months from my I-pad using the Hp app, or taking a screenshot of it from e-mail, then printing that. And cropping with scissors.
The app does not allow odd sizes , which I required .
I presume that this means my iPad and printer are on the same network?

Hi Solitaire, having read your links, I did set up my printer using a usb cable and the disk that came with the printer, using my laptop, as described in the first link.
Not sure about e -print , I think I have used it once in the past, but honestly cannot recall, or remember what it even entails?
    More reading I think:beer:

hi missile, it has me stumped!
Why it should just go after working ok for years.
I don’t know why the Hp app says it cannot find printer, yet the router says it is connected, and printer confirms it?
Not familiar how the WiFi works.

For me, the issue coincided with a software update.

OK Just checked the HP website, seems it's retiring the "HP ePrint" app at the end of August.

The new version is called "HP Smart" app, it seems to find your printer when you're connected to the same network. Not tried the app outside of my network yet..

That is what I am using now, and have been for a while.
It is the one I am having bother detecting my printer !
When it does detect it, as soon as I say print, it loses connection and cannot find printer again.
    The mind boggles
Been on to talktalk community, as they are my isp, and as I am also having trouble accessing my router to check on WiFi for printer et.al, they say they will send a new one out.
I keep getting 401 unauthorised when I type 198.162.1.1 which is definitely the Ip for my router.
I did get in yesterday, once, but not again today.
He said to change one of the networks by adding a letter to it, so printer does not get the wrong one.?
    2.4and5 ghz.
    I thought all peripherals used 2.4 ?
Beyond me I am afraid :rotfl:
They only sent this one a month or two ago.
Rather confused as to whether it will make any difference though.

2.4 is slow speed wifi but can be used over longer distances. 5 is faster but has a shorter range.

But it does sound like your router is the issue. :D

I moved my printer closer to my router, see if it made a difference, but it did not.
So when my printer connects to my router, does it pick up the strongest of the two bands? In my case neither at the moment:)
I notice the IP address on the printer changes .
I tend not to mess with the router, as I am not too familiar with them to know what I am doing.
I even use the WiFi password supplied, even though people on here say It should be changed, just in case I mess it up.
tT say there is no need !

I had a quick look on the TalkTalk forums and it looks like they removed the ability to "Assign a static IP Address" when they dumbed down the router.

If possible can you set a fixed ip address on the printer itself (using the device's screen or the smart app?)

Hi Solitaire, been trying all sorts since I last posted.
As I still have two old routers, that are both working, I thought I would try them, and see what happens with the printer and logging into the router.
First was my TT one, I used it only up to a few months ago, when they provided me with the one I am having trouble with finding my printer and logging in to the router.
With this one, my iPad and kindle fire both connected WiFi straight away, but not my printer, it would not connect, even using Wps.
When I tried logging into the router, same Ip as before, they are all the same, 192.168.1.1, I got the login box, something I cannot get with my latest one, BUT, when I entered the username and password, it said it was incorrect!
It was not, it is on the back ? I did not use all 3 allowed tries.
Changed that for my older one again , Hauwie, the iPad picked up WiFi signal straight away, kindle asked for password, as I had not used it with this old router, but did not enter it, the printer again would not connect WiFi, and the same with the login to the router, incorrect Un and PW, even though they are both admin, unlikely to make a mistake!
Does TT monitor the latest router, and ban, other routers logging in to them ?
Plugged latest back in, and everything detected WiFi, straight away, even the printer, but, still will not print, or allow login.
Regarding your IP suggestion, I have tried that, on the app, several times, it is not available on the printer display, only Wps or PIN number.
Tried Wps but not the pin.
Might try that, when my head clears:)
I tried all the IP ,s I had ,and the one the printer claims it is connected to my WiFi router, on the display panel, but it would not allow me to go further, nothing?
    At a dead end again.

EDITed?as soon as I posted this, I used the app, and it picked up my printer, it asked if it was, yes/no, I clicked yes, nothing happened, whereas normally, it would show ink levels and connect as long as I do not ask it to print ?
Six times it did this, then status quo, no printer found.
Tried using the IP it gave when it said, is this your printer, no go, just no options, nowt !
    Sorry it is a saga.
