WiFi printer problems

Hi Guys, got WiFi convection problem with my Hp 3050A all in one printer.
When I try to print, iPad says no printer detected, even from my Hp app.
But, the display on the printer says WiFi connected, and signal good?
If I turn both router and printer off/on, the app will detect the printer, but when I go to print anything, no printer found again.?
I have printed a couple of docs, switching off/on, but, the printer, or router will not stay connected?
I do not use often.
Cannot understand how app will detect it, then lose it when told to print?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Similar problem, and the easiest solution is to physically connect the laptop to the printer. You need to install a second driver for the printer the first time you do this as it detects the connected printer as a new device (easy as it guides you through on first connection).

Now I wait to see if it prints and if not I pick up the laptop and plug it in to the printer.

Hi, it is I-pad I am using , not laptop.
You cannot connect an I-pad phyisically to my knowledge , can you?.
    Has to be WiFi!
It was simple with my laptop, cable, but, no longer got a pc.
Never had much bother using the I-pad, just this time?
Put a different router on, but, have had a few new routers, and the printer has worked ok.
Strange how the Hp app detects the printer, asks if is mine, I say yes, then when I try to print something, it cannot locate it again ?

Get rid of the app and try another.

Google Cloud Print is okay but I really recommend Printer 2 Go, it's very simple to set up and use.

I ditched Google and my manufacturers app in favour of it.

    Update.
Still not managed to find the fault!
    Stumped.
    D link super router.
I have tried accessing my router, to see what is on my network, but, I get, blocked, 401.unauthorised?
Typing 192.168.1.1 only brings up, unauthorised, no permission.
No box to put username and password.
Can I access router using WiFi from my I-pad?
Although the printer says it is connected to my network, I wanted to log in and see if it is showing, with my two kindles.
Tried logging in via my kindle fire, got dialogue box for username and password, but, typed them in, and still 401 unauthorised?

D Link default IP address is usually 192.168.0.1 Have you changed it to 192.168.1.1?
I use an HP M252dw LaserJet which is also wireless and I've found that giving it a static IP address makes it vastly more reliable on wifi as it doesn't get frequent use and doesn't have to negotiate a new address via DHCP every time it fires up.

    Hi, definitely 1.1
    On the back of router.
    Still won’t let me in.
Been on it several times when I had a laptop!
Seems I have gremlins in your network?

Just got into router using 1.1.
All four items using WiFi there, and enabled, connected ok.
    I pad.1.2
    Kindle fire 1.3 printer 1.4
    Kindle 1.5
Yet, tried to print again, after several attempts to detect my printer, it picked it up, BUT, when I tried to print a doc, it said preparing to print, and then, printer offline, even though the router is still showing connected?
    Odd!
This is what has been happening, so stumped?
Can only assume it is printer related ??

    Edit.
Just rechecked and printer has not dropped offline in the router, and is even showing, and though the blue light on printer is on static, and saying connected?

    The mind boggles.
    Gremlins:mad:

hi missile, it has me stumped!
Why it should just go after working ok for years.
I don’t know why the Hp app says it cannot find printer, yet the router says it is connected, and printer confirms it?
Not familiar how the WiFi works.
