Blondie,
I am afraid to say that meatloaf is not worth going to see anymore.

Not that many old icons of rock can still deliver these days, the price of the rock'n roll lifestyle :-("Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

I've just heard about this from a friend who was at the concert last night too. She agrees with MFG, he's not worth seeing any more and she won't be spending her hard earned dosh on tickets to see him ever again.0

At least he tried to perform and turned up, if the guy is ill, the guy is ill. Remember he is 60 after all.
He collapsed on stage in 2003, would you rather he had done that? The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 10

Hapless If he was that ill he should of cancelled ( im sure you would feel different if you had spent all that money on tickets) but no he had to go on for the hour and he knew no-one could get there money back but he know he would not loose anything a joke really and his promotor saying he was sorry its rubbish if he was that sorry they would offer everyone a refund.
I most certainly would not pay to go and see him again0 -
I've just seen on the news that he announced at the start of the show he was unwell and that it might be one of his last ever live shows.
That said I don't blame Meatloaf, I think the bloke was probably put under pressure from his management team to go on with the show because they would lose loads of money if he cancelled. Especially as they have now announced that there will be no refund for everyone at the concert last night. They pointed out he was on stage for over an hour. Woo hoo I'm sure everyone there was happy to pay out all that money to see a sick man try to sing for an hour.
BTW I'm a big meatloaf fan, I've been to see him at the arena 3 times and he was fantastic, I was disappointed I couldn't go with my friend this time, but now I'm pleased I didn't waste my money.0 -

I take it you have never gone into work feeling unwell, only having to go home halfway through the day?The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 10

hapless, things are different in entertainment. If you cannot sing anymore, you should know when to retire instead of showing to everyone what a sorry, pathetic and pitiful excuse of a singer you have become. Meatloaf is not the only one who should quit: Jon Bon Jovi should stop too. There is nothing more disappointing than going to a concert and realise that the entire audience is doing a better job than the singer. Led Zep stopped altogether when their drummer died because they knew they would not be half as good with a different drummer (not necessarily representing singing, but it is the best entertainment example of retiring young).
When you go in to work and leave halfway through the day, I doubt you are talking about 15,000 (people) * 50 (quid) of loss to your company. I would however agree that it might just be his mgmt pushing him to go on stage because they would refuse to refund the tickets otherwise. If that was the case, then his mgmt is disillusioned, not him. In a way, Meatloaf's attitude towards his fan is still better than Axl Rose's or even Amy Winehouse's."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

Has anyone seen the footage of Amy Winehouse at the MTV awards last night?
My DH bought some tickets to see her next week cheapish off ebay and I said at the time we will be lucky if she turns up but I am more concerned that she will turn up and sing really badly.
We knew the risk we were taking when we booked them after all her reputation precedes her but it will make for an expensive crap night out if her performance last night is anything to go by.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
You clearly are a MADFRENCHGIRL, i've seen Bon Jovi every time theyve come to Scotland and a couple of times in England. Most recently when they opened the O2 arena and they are AWESOME, they are getting better with age. They always play for at least 2 1/2 hours and they are the best live band i've ever seen. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

 Amy Winehouse.... She is part of these artists who have changed the famous Who quote: "the music gets in the way of the show" to "the music (if any) gets in the way of the tabloid scandals".
I honestly wish that she will be good when you get to see her. Let's hope she feels "motivated" enough to go on stage that night as she declared she would not go on stage if not fully motivated because she would not give the audience her best. I doubt she would refund the costs of travel and time lost that her fans had to spend to get to her show (assuming her mgmt is willing to refund tickets)."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye
