At the moment on Crown for June delivery its $1.56.......... aarrggh what do I do????????????
Decision normally wouldn't be so bad to make, but was there last Dec and $2.02 to the pound so now getting greedy!!
Ok, all ordered, paying tomorrow. How safe is Crown should they go bump before we get our dollars?0 -
izzy it really is a case of risk taking. It is unlikely to go lower than $1.40 but likewise it may go no where near $1.56
How about half with crown and half nearer the time if you're unsure?Merry Christmas MSE!0 -

Thanks. Thats what we've deceided on. Placed an order this evening for £1000 at $1.56 with Crown and will do the other £500 nearer the time or wait and see what happens. We've set a limit that if it drops to $1.45 then we will get the other lot then. We're lucky that we are staying with my parents so no food or board to pay for, but want to maximise our spending power out there as we want to visit quite a few places.0 -

good decisionI wouldn't worry too much though if it feel below $1.45 say 6 weeks before you left as it could easily rebound within that time

Crown have been trading for a number of years with lots of very happy customers including me. however they offer no protection so if they do go under you will lose your money.
i recently ordered some currency and was extr3emely worried until i actually received my dollars.izzybusy23 wrote: »At the moment on Crown for June delivery its $1.56.......... aarrggh what do I do????????????

Hi Guys,
Are Crown accurate with their delivery times?? Just seen the rates and i will be getting approx $5 more for my £800 (well actually its only £798). Delivery will be the 19th Jan but i fly out on the 22nd so pushed for time.
What do you suggest?
Thanks0 -
they are spot on with their delivery times but you cant rule out the royal mail cocking up the delivery0

Actually it makes a huge difference- there are me hubby and two kids( although 19/23 in age) so whilst they don't mind sharing a room don't want to all the time, we are planning to fly drivie around California. When I was in NY last April £3000 got me $6000, now it will only get me $4500.00 at best, so when you have rooms and food to pay for for us anyway it makes a big differnce. With the BoE reducing it's rate again today wonder how this will affect the exchange rate?0
