Looks like thats trade closed at $1.5238 / £1.00, which is just Dandy-O for me!
I'm not very well educated in this, but I reckon things look good for our exchange rate at the moment. Don't ask me why I think this - its a hunch - but I reckon we'll be at $1.55 or $1.56 by close of trade next Friday.

The US dollar and Japanese yen took a beating over the past week amidst renewed risk appetite, but the euro and British pound may both face bearish news from the release of Euro-zone GDP and the Bank of England’s Quarterly Inflation Report. On the other hand, optimism could grow further as Fed Chairman Bernanke is due to speak and US retail sales have the potential to improve.

Simon Derrick, chief currency strategist at Bank of New York Mellon Corp, said that "the Bank of England's move was a surprise for Sterling". The UK currency slipped 0.6% against the Dollar, after climbing towards a high of $1.5200, the strongest level since January 9th. Derrick also said that short-term losses for the Pound may provide "a buying opportunity" and the UK currency may rise as high as $1.55 in the next month.
