Me and a friend are off to the USA for 6 weeks traveling around.
We were wondering the best way (and cheapest way) to do money?
Currently i have:
Nationwide Cashcard
Natwest Student Credit card (Emergency use)
Natwest Maestro Card (not sure how the charges work)
We were considering a currency card from the Post office aswell?
I will have internet banking set up with the nationwide and natwest accounts and in total we are looking to have access to about £2000
we leave on the 30th so time is limited to sort things out, what would be the best options with lowest (if any) charges?
many thanks

£2000 for 6 weeks :eek: -- prepare yourself for some SERIOUS penny pinching, or relying on 99 cent McDonalds food, crappy accomodation, struggling to get from A to B and NO money for leisure time.
Sorry Old Bean, but £2000 won't get you very far at all.0 -
I agree with Murphy.... for 7 days in NYC and area I take around £1000... eek
so, you have £47 per day, which works out at around $89 if you get a 1.9ish exchange rate....
does that budget INCLUDE your accomodation costs or are they already paid for?0 -

long and the short is that we are essential;ly backpacking without the backpacks...ish.
We have 7/8 days accomodation in New york Free and we are staying in cheap hostels every night (we dont really care about the facilities as we wont be there and also are staying at cheap hostels with good reviews) and traveling by night on greyhound where we can.
Probably not doing alot of shopping either..0
