I think you really have p1ssed Neil off, maybe an apology might not go amiss?
some people genuinely get really attached to their pets. i wouldn't know because i've never had a pet die on me. my mam and dad have a dog that they have had since i was about 10, she's still going strong, but i don't know what it would be like if she died. would probably be pretty upsetting though.
