i'm going to california, we land in LA, have 5 days there going to Disney and Universal, then drive to Palm springs for 2 days of relaxing in a spa. then we drive to Las Vegas, for 3 nights in a suite at the Bellagio, then we drive to Yosemite, stopping at death valley for 1 night as its quite a long way. then we finish off with 4 nights in san fransisco. doing things like helicopter trips etc down the canyon. won't be doing much shopping if the rate stays as crap as this. (if you have any dollars left, please let me buy them off you ;) )

Sounds great! :j We're flying into Las Vegas (4 nights) then driving out to Grand Canyon (2 nights), across to LA stopping for a night in Lake Havasu City, 2 nights in LA then down to San Diego for 5 nights, flying home from LAX.

We really wanted to go to Yosemite and SF too, but San Diego won in the end this time around - we'll have to save Yosemite and SF for another time.

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

  • IM, can you explain this in leymans terms for me? does this mean the printing the new money has just begun? is it going to help the GBP?

yes, it has now begun - although they are not literally sticking a few more sheets of A4 in the printer tray, as some people seem to think !!

well its designed to help the UK economy, but it will be a long long process, which in turn will hopefully boost the Pounds fortunes...

its all unchartered territory really, so no-one is really sure what is going to happen, and seem to be erring on the side of caution at the moment

as soon as any signs begin to show that its having the desired effect the Treasury hope it will, i reckon GBP is gonna fly......

  • i've done all them places!!
stopped in a penthouse in the bellagio for 5 nights :) expedia put them up as same price as normal rooms! stopped there another couple of times too. as well as the mandalay, luxor, paris, main street station
love palm springs. great outlet shopping at Cabazon. superb golf!
vegas to yosemite is a fair drive. took us about 8 hours. stopped in oakhurst
LOVED yosemite though... mainly as never knew what to expect...
i could go on for days...
thanks Neil, is good to hear of other people that have been. were stopping in death valley for a night as the drive is such a long way. the best place we have found is a best western motel. not very glamourous but there are no nice hotels around there. so its just somewhere to crash our heads.
