Wishing you loads of luck with it, I hope you get the rate. SOMEONE needs to get the better of Tesco. The more dealings I have with them, the more I don't like the way they treat their customers!0 -

[07:40 GBP/USD: 1.4030 Bids Tested, LBG News & Bean Comments Digested] London, March 9. Cable tested 1.4030 bids in early European trade, after breaking below the base of today"s 1.4080-1.4184 Asian session range, as the continent digested the late Friday news about Lloyds Banking Group. The UK Treasury is upping its stake in LBG from 43% from 65%--the stake could go as high as 77%, in return for insuring toxic loans worth GBP 260bn via the Asset Protection Scheme. 83% of those toxic loans derive from HBOS. LBG has also promised to lend GBP 28bn in the next two years (BBC website). LBG shares closed at 43.5 pence on Friday.
1.4039 was Friday"s late NY session low, plumbed on the back of the LBG news. 1.4306 was Friday"s post-US employment report high.
BoE Deputy Governor Charles Bean says the BoE has scope to pump more money into the UK economy if its "Quantitative Easing" Asset Purchase Programme fails to kick-start growth (Daily Mail). The BoE will purchase GBP 2bn of gilts on Wednesday--the first of a series of twice-weekly auctions re: its GBP 75-150bn QE APP. "BoE braced for losses over plan to print money" was the headline of article by David Smith in The Sunday Times.
Prudential has quit the auction for AIG"s Asian arm, which is up for sale for
$20bn (Sunday Times). Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

Clocks changed in the US over the weekend.
So, they will be in an hour earlier everyday until we change our clocks at the end of the month.
So 1.30pm figures will instead be 12.30 figures for a few weeks.
