I'm constantly refreshing this thread, it's gripping stuff! I leave for the US next Thursday and if it gets close to 1.50 before then I'll be delighted.
I'm away for 3 months so hopefully it'll continue to improve while I'm away!0 -

can i ask when i see the ftse up and down and the dow jones like that, does that affect the currency as well, as some days you see on the news the ftse is down but the currency is up?

everything can effect everything in the stock, forex and money markets
but there is no direct correlation between ftse and forex
if on is up, it doesn't neccesarily mean the other is up
its more to do with WHICH stocks are up/down rather than the entire ftsePlease take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

peaked at 1.4315
taht was a massive rally, all the way up from 1.41 in just over 1 hour
taken a breather now, back down to 1.4290
lets see if it can make a serious challenge on the 1.4370 level later today
big numbers being released in the US at 1.30 this afternoon (London time) that could influence the GBP/USD direction
(as i've typed all this we have spiked back up to 1.4315... here we go again!)Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

Hmmm I am seriously thinking of pulling out. £1600 is a lot of money to us and if we lost it then thats our holiday gone.. with £1200 worth of untransferable / unrefundable flights. Even though we are only staying with my parents, it would be a pretty bleak 16 days without any spends. Its just not worth the stress me reckons.
I have already contacted Crown who asked how much I wanted refunded, but didn't reply, but I think I will when I get home and tell them all of it.
Will let you now how I get on.0
