    Hi

    I'm looking for some advice.

I have about $2200 and i'm wanting to know when and who to sell it - should I sell it to the banks, post office etc?

    cheers in advance
  • I want to cry. $1.37. Glad I got some at $1.50, but it doesn't look like I will be splashing the cash in April :( And so much for the advice I gave Mrs Blink to not bother buying clothes for the trip as it would be cheaper to buy them out there

Depending on who you listen to, some people think that Sterling could fall another 10%, but bearing in mind that Sterling is at a 7 year low, now would be a good time to sell.

Can't advise who to sell to though, I always spend my currency. I think some people may even sell it on e-bay as you may get a better rate that way, but it always struck me as a dodgy way to sell cash.
  • this is just so damn typical, we have saved up for ages to afford to take the kids to florida in june. now the dollar is at an all time low!! honest opinion anyone please should i buy the currency at the cra*py exchange now or take a gamble and wait and see........

why is it typical? currency goes up and down, and it always has and always will..

i remember my first trip to NYC back in Nov 01, and the exchange rate then was $1.40 ish to the £1... so, slightly lower now, but is it really the end of the world? naa... it's just life!

True, but seeing 30% knocked off over the last 9 or so months does make it a bitter pill

She-Ra. the usual advice tends to be buy half now and half at the time, that way if it falls you don't lose as much, but if it rises you don't gain as much.

Basically you are hedging your bets.
  • people are forgetting that 6 to 12mths ago it was up nearer 2.00

Now its collapsed to 1.36, and people think its the end of the world!

Its not. Its just rollercoaster life of the foreign exchange markets, and unfortunate bad timing for some people.

Who knows where it will be in 1hr, let alone 1 week or 1 month.

If you gotta change it, just do it, and quit worrying about it !!!
