I couldn't agree more. DC3 has hit the terrible twos (despite not being 2 for a few months yet). I love him to bits, but he's hard work at the moment.mumtoomany wrote: »Thanks for the liqueur recipe. Thank you. I'm always amazed when people read my diary.
Today has been quite productive. DC3 and I went and collected some more berries then I attempted my first batch of jam. I made pear and blackberry jam and it's delicious. If anything, it's slightly over boiled, but it's still spreadable and will be lovely in porridge. I only made a small batch for this trial run. I've jarred some up for a gift and have a small jar left for myself. It's motivated me to get the rest done soon. I can't wait for the apples to be ready for picking so I can make a spicy chutney. It's great with curries as a substitute for mango chutney and also lovely with cheese.0 -

I haven't posted for a while because things have been a bit up in the air. DHs car has been damaged through no fault of his own. We're hoping the other party are going to pay for the repairs without having to go through insurance, but they're making it more difficult than it needs to be
We've also had to buy a new fridge freezer. We managed to sell the old one for £80. The new one was a slight second, should have been around £600, but got it for £370 with a bit of haggling. I've paid on the cc for the points but will pay this off in full from savings. It just means I'll have to work extra hard to be able to pay DHs car insurance and the home insurance that are both due next month.0 -
That's a toughie with the car.
My advice just tell the other party that it is entirely to his advantage for you not to go to the insurers - indeed you are breaching your own insurer's terms by not doing so, although for minor damage it happens all the time - I'm just saying you are taking the risk and he is getting the benefit. Suggest you OH gives a deadline about getting it sorted and makes sure he is happy with the repairs and not fobbed off with a shoddy job by some mate of the perpetrator
you should start a thread on the motoring forum - you will get some robust replies within which will be nuggets of good adviceI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks for the suggestions. It a bit of a difficult situation because of who caused the damage but I'm hoping DH had made some progress with it today.0 -
Hope you manage to get the car sorted. Sounds like you are making good progress over all.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
