A bit of a change of circumstances since I last posted…DH & I have separated. Turns out he wasn’t the person I thought he was. I won’t go into details on here, for obvious reasons, but there’s no way back from what he’s done.
I’m trying to sort the practicalities at the moment. So far, I’ve updated UC and council tax. I’ve been signed off work again for at least another 3 weeks so I need to use that time to get everything in order.2 -
Sorry to hear that, it must be really tough right now. Sending hugs & strength. It's never easy so take what help you can get. How are the children coping with it too, that can be difficult.

Thank you both. I’m not sad he’s gone, I feel relieved. If anything, I’m cross with myself for not finding a way out sooner. He’s just caused a lot of damage though and it’s the ones left behind that have to pick up the pieces.1

I'm not sad about my divorce either - other than wondering why I put up with things as long as I did. That's not to say that I haven't indulged in a whole load of 'what ifs.' I think your kids are younger than mine - so I was thinking about them as much as anything.WelshKitty85 said:Thank you both. I’m not sad he’s gone, I feel relieved. I can’t fully respond without giving away too much information but the DCs won’t forgive what he’s done and neither will I. He’s caused a lot of damage.savingholmes said:

Today’s been difficult. It’s the first time since he went that I’ve really had time to myself and I’ve probably been overthinking things. I’m just angry that he’s taken advantage for so long and that I’ve just wasted so much time in a relationship that was never going to last.I managed to declutter some kitchen cupboards in between my meltdowns and I’ve made a few bits for this weekend’s craft fair. Mum and Dad are staying over and they’re going to help me get on top of jobs around the house and do some more decluttering before they leave.1 -

@WelshKitty85 can I say that I've been in this position too. 12 years ago the bottom dropped out of my world. I am now happier than I've ever been; my ex...not so much; his now wife is A Maniac and not in a good way. I had a 6 year old at that point. We are happy, balanced, realistic; above all, we are free. I confidently predict that you will be too and sooner than you think though there will be difficult days. Pm me anytime and I'm sure that all of us on here love and admire you. You have a posse who have your back...Nemesis is lying in wait for your ex and it's impossible to outrun her. You, au contraire, are going get through this with style and grace. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx2
