So the overall figure is looking better than it was a month ago. In reality, some of that is down to repayments, but some is simply down to getting the correct figures now. I'm not happy with the figure on the M&S card. They've refused to lower the interest so this is a priority to pay off. I do have money in my current account that I could use to make an overpayment, but until we know DHs work situation for next month I'm being careful not to leave ourselves short.
In terms of savings I have just over £200 in my car insurance/tax etc pot and will have £150 in my emergency savings by the end of the month.
Overall the figures are heading in the right direction but there's still room for improvement.0 -
We have decided that DD will be getting a new phone for either Christmas or her birthday (they are 3 days apart  ) as she currently has my old one and it's playing up. So, the next challenge I'm setting myself is to save enough money in PayPal to cover the cost of this.
A couple of unnecessary spends today - a shocking £5.90 on 2 hot chocolates, and £3.45 on chips and curry sauce. I've also ordered a small gift for the children to give DH for his birthday next week. I've sold 5 items today though which will cover all of this. I've also relisted loads of unsold items to end Sunday and swapped buy it nows to auctions and vice versa, to try and boost sales.0 -

Shop around for your husband's car insurance. Try the comparision sites.
Watch out for ebays fees on buy it now, and remember they take 10% of the postage charge as well, so make sure you allow for this.
As the car was 'not as discribed' why was it not taken direct back to the dealer at the time? you really cannot afford all these cars, I know you say they are your luxury, but with a total debt at £48K approx..............
Hope they have sorted out what your child's alergies are.

We are in Wales. It was purchased from a garage in Scotland based on their online advert. They had the car transported to us. We have copies of emails we have sent them asking them to pick up the car and refund us but they haven't replied, hence the s75 claim.0 -
How many debts do you think I can pay off if I put DC3 on eBay??? He is driving me crazy today! Screams when he's put down, screams because his toys aren't good enough and he needs the tv remote, or the telephone I'm trying to use, screams because the lounge door is closed...even though it was him who closed it :eek:0

Houses are so expensive. We are currently doing my kitchen in bits as we can't afford it all. Total nightmare. Such hard work living in a building site. With sofas i just love ikea. X
Kitten I've just read through your diary from 2016 and I'm desperate to know how you're getting on - how's your new home, how did the grey paint turn out, your hospital treatment...??0 -
Exhaustion has set in again today. I put DC3 to bed half an hour early last night when I decided that the neighbourhood had put up with his screams for long enough. But that meant a 5am wake up call this morning. On the plus side we got the weekly shop out of the way nice and early and beat the bank holiday traffic trying to get into town.
I've gone over my monthly grocery budget, but only by about £20 and this included £5 on daffodil bulbs and lots of essentials like toothpaste and deodorant that I couldn't quite put off until next week, plus birthday cards and chocolates.
Tonight is the night that I'm taking DH out for meal. Really looking forward to it and hoping to stick to the £40 budget I've set aside.
Feeling rather  as I've just been told a certain family member has let the children down again. Keeps promising to have them for a sleep over, take them for a ride on the open top bus, trip to the zoo...but it never happens. I know every time it's promised that it's highly unlikely to ever happen but it's so unfair to do it again and again to the children :mad:0 -
Our meal was delicious. Spent £41.25 & would have stayed in budget if I hadn't ordered the large red wine...oops! Unfortunately, the babysitter didn't give DC3 his supper or his last bottle, and they rocked him to sleep "so he didn't cry". So I was up with him at midnight and at 4am. Really hoping we can get back to routine tonight.0

Have read your diary and you have made a good start again . One thing though you don't have a lot of luck with cars though , after reading your previous threads .
Hope DC3 settles down for you tonight. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
