Caa taking enforcement action? Surely an oxymoron...
The only thing O'Leary will take notice of is impounding of half a dozen of his 737s.

A couple of observations from me.

It’s odd that the Irish regulator has been conspicuous by their silence on this issue. An abdication of responsibility perhaps?

JP, no doubt the CAA will have been working very hard behind the scenes to prevent locking horns with Ryanair. IMO tho, it was always inevitable.

The whole ADR system, regarding flight delays, just adds another layer of complexity, confusion and distance from the UK regulator. The UK public deserves far better.

Alan, do you know if the European cases that you refer to were in a lower court? So none precedent setting.

The court cases were in Germany, Spain and Italy. I believe the Spanish case did go to a higher court but since they are not European Court decisions they have no bearing in English courts. Of course, I fear Ryanair have been telling customers that they win all their cases and they might as well give up, and many will. I agree that ADR may not be the best alternative and I understand 22,000 cases were started in ADR against Ryanair of which only 1,000 were settled so the loss may not be that great
