Hello Churchmouse:wave: i think yr lurking....
Had a quick swish round the house and done my ironing:D0 -
Good afternoon!
I slept in this morning, so have been playing catch-up all day:o Did stop and read the thread late morning but then didn't have time to post:D
I did the quickest whip round possible, just to make it *top show* tidy:o and then headed off to Bluewater, well I had a voucher for £5 off at Marks and Sparks they sent through the post. Only valid this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon, and it wouldn't be very MS to waste it eh?:rotfl: :rotfl: Somehow I seem to have managed to spend more than £5Can't imagine how that happened:rolleyes: But I do have a lovely new top, 2 bras, new grill pan (very necessary, the old one warped every time you let it see the tiniest flame:rotfl: ), a new *star* topper for the Christmas tree, more Christmas tree ornaments, and one Christmas gift:D I just hope now that I'll be able to afford the tree this year, apparently there's going to be a shortage of the Nordman firs because of the weather conditions we've had, and the price will go up. Well there's a surprise:rolleyes:
scuzz, well done on the firewalk!! Are you saying the walk softened your feet, or did you have to get them soft to be able to do the walk?
Pink-winged hope you're feeling better. You'll get used to DD spreading her wings. It is hard at first, but it does get easier, honestly:D (in fact it can eventually get to the point where you practically hang out the bunting when they go away:rotfl: :rotfl: )
SnowyOwl lovely to see you back. How are the kitties doing?
JackieO enjoy Bluewater tomorrow:D There's probably too much *inspiration* really. Must admit I get *blinded* by so much choice.
Haribo don't you dare behave! I loved yesterday's Hall of Fame, apart from one very insensitive piccieDon't let big sis pull rank on you;)
catowen, hope you're right and you have won another laptop, it'd be a big disappointment otherwise. Yours is not a common name, so I would think it is you:D
mioliere, sorry DH wasn't at his Mum's funeral. It must be hard for him not to have been there to say goodbye, but I'm sure he will be a great help to his Dad when the *attention* dies down. Regretfully support does seem to fade away quickly after the funeral, so I expect his Dad will appreciate his company. ((((hugs))))) to you all.
Must get off DS3 is on nights again today, and needs his breakfast before he goes, and I can hear him stirring.
CM xxYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Evening Os'ers.
I seem to have had a really unproductive week so far.
My plans for Tuesday meeting family for lunch and Wednesday going to an annual ladies lunch...as well as doing some much needed housework failed miserably when I was called into work on Tuesday morning to cover sick leave....2 lunches cancelled and I had paid in advance for the Wednesday one.
Today, I had arranged for an engineer to look at 2 of my machines at work, he was meant to be coming this morning, so I got to work at 8.20....he turned up at 12.45....don't know what time zone he was in, but at least he sorted out the problems when he arrived.
No trick or treaters last night..although we don't answer the door.
Congrats to Frogga on a fab weight loss
Mioliere, I'm sorry about the arrangements, but OH will be able to support dad when the others have returned home.
Catowen..i hope it's true about your win.
Hugs to those in need..

Had taken huge notes through today about what I wanted to say to you all but then tonight my best friend called. I had tried to contact her just over 4 weeks ago to see how she is doing - as she has terminal bowel cancer. I then didn't want to contact her when I had my wee wrinkle 3 weeks ago with the blackout. Her probs bigger than mine but she is keeping so well. She has been my absolute rock tonight and I am very emotional. She got me to talk about things and she gave me a row because I hadn't been in contact. Terminal stuff worse than my thing I think! I love her so much and told her tonight!
Just want to send my love and hugs to you all. I did read today what is going on so I know who are having difficult times. GB is having an emotional evening.
Good news though on the pension front - I think I may definitely go when I am 60 3 years this Xmas day!
MeanM - will pm you. CChick will also be in touch. Be patient with me!
Love and hugs to all
GB
Edit
OH dear the guides have removed my link for the donations re meningitis. I thought they might have gone with this as Martin had mentioned in the weekly e-mail.

Just doing another emotional post.
DD has just phoned to say all well with the boys, she is tired and PMT she thinks not so bad. However, SIL has discovered a lump in his bits and bobs!!! He has a doctor's appointment early next week. Please make sure your other halves keep checking and you guys on here! This is serious. We have lost 3 very close friends through testicular cancer so do the checks.
What a day - I thought I was being so positive!!
GB xxxxxxxxxx0 -
have skimmed the thread so hugs to those who have health issues or dodgy lodgers
Am a day behind with EVERYTHING so you get my hallowe'en story today. the plan was that I would go shopping at lunch time for a sort of party that dd had arranged at my house, come home from work early to set up and take dgs and dds trick and treating. Well i knew it was going to go wrong when I saw what judge I was with and that it was going to be a late night so i called exoh and asked him to pick up the shopping on his way to my house and get things started. In the meantime dd called to say that dgs and another little boy didn't have costumes so could I pop over to MR T and pick up some in the sale. 4.30 no sign of exoh - called him and he said he was very tired and had just made himself a cup of tea (my tea btw) and blah blah. well the next couple of hours were punctuated by all the people at my house texting and calling to say they wanted to go out but i have the costumes and they're hungry and what to do ... persuaded exoh to come and get everything, asked security to call me out of court when he arrives and went back in .... just as all hell got let loose and the applicant was throwing tables and charis around the court!!! in the middle of all that texts from exoh to say he's come all this way, no-one's at security, where's the shopping .... Well we're all a bit busy now - sorry for the inconvenience. Sorted, sent him off to start cooking and left work at about 6.30pm expecting a nice empty house. Wrong - dgs has been shown his costume and is so impressed that he wet himself and is screaming blue murder so now he's going to stay in and help look after Nana which he did by begging me "not open door nana - monsters" every time the trick and treaters came round. Got rid of everyone at about 11 and then had to start cooking for a diwali lunch at work. I had foolishly agreed to make matter paneer and it was going to be offered up to the scrutiny of the asian ladies on my section. Didn't get to bed till gone 1am
Anyway we had a lovely lunch - someone made a carrot cake with sultanas in it which is of course 2 of my 5 a day and my matter paneer was judged to be ...... the right colour.
11yo dd is happy too - she is gifting dgs the party bags for his bday at the end of the month and made a profit in sweeties last night to fill the bags three times over - she's thinking christmas stockings now.
have a good evening all
OH GB - hugs and hugs - hope all is ok - and you're right about the checks.I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
* runs off to check DH bits and bobs

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
I have just realised I have had two so negative and down posts tonight. If you really know me, this is not me! I am a bright side look on life really person. Honest! Just how the phone calls have gone tonight. Not phoning DS in Ireland because that may be negative too. So looking forward to seeing him next Friday night when we fly over.
Love GB xxxxx
