The lounge Iberia use at Malaga AGP is very average. I would not pay to go in there.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

tell them its your birthday. The check in staff will be so overwhelmed at you flying on such a special occasion that they will surely give you a free upgrade to business class. This will give you included access to an airport lounge. Simples0

Just ensure they have no way of validating that it is, indeed, your birthday...budgetflyer wrote: »tell them its your birthday. Such as passport for example :-)0 -
If you get to an airport early enough to take advantage of a lounge, you left too early.
Completely disagree.
Whether you are going by public or private transport you need to allow for contingency.
I did get caught up in an accident at the same time as a football match on the way to a cruise, but hundreds of other people were too.0 -
Lounges lost a lot of their appeal when every Tom Richard and Harry on a package holiday was allowed to pay £20 to get in only to get tanked up on Stella. The campaign against overpowering signatures0

Well that would've been nice on my 4 different flights for my 50th birthday......totally didn't happen though, we were even lucky to get on 2 of the flights as they had overbooked, let alone upgraded! :eek:budgetflyer wrote: »tell them its your birthday. I hadn’t used a lounge until last year but have now used four. It was very good to be able to shower before my flight home from Chile but other than that I could have survived without it. I really don’t think that they’re particularly worth it otherwise.
Okay, so it’s nice to have comfortable seats and a bite to eat and a beer but they aren’t the be all and end all. I wouldn’t pay for access if I wasn’t given it due to the flight ticket.0 -

I can see both points of view on the value of lounge access. Having experienced some of the best oneworld lounges over the last few years I.e Honk Kong, Heathrow and LA I can definitely say they are worth it but only come through airline status or being guested. Although access is a privelage of status indirectly the customer has paid for access through the amount of travel. Whereas the paid for lounge say £25 a time the customer will need to consume a few alcoholic drinks to make it worth while compared to going to a bar or restaurant airside. As a one off when in a party it may be a good way to start the holiday.
If a regular traveller then a yearly membership scheme can be worth it to escape the crowds and get rest before flying.
Even some of the airline lounges, similar to paid for have limited food options and can get overcrowded at times. Overall if you want to pay out for the experience go for it but don't expect luxury.0
