    Morning all :)
    Enjoy your weekend Ally :)

Bit bleary eyed this morning, as I couldn't get off to sleep for ages last night for some reason :(
Had a little bit of rain yesterday evening, but it really was a little bit, and the soil isn't even damp this morning. No rain forecast for the foreseeable future either. I am old enough to remember the summer of 1976, and it feels like a rerun of that :( One consolation is that the tomatoes and basil love it though!

    Today's list:
Handful of HG raspberries and blueberries with breakfast :)
Load of washing to dry outside on the line (another consolation of the lack of rain)
I expect DD will appear with both kids
I have a YS chicken to cook for dinner later
Make pesto if I have any nuts. If not it can wait till another day as I do not intend to go shopping just for one item!
Tidy out / declutter one drawer as the clutter is building up again - mainly paperwork :( Must get back to doing this!
    Clean bathroom
    No spends intended today :)

Hope everyone has a good one!

    Afternoon everyone
Have been trying to rest the left arm which is still painful but get things done aswell.
Popped into town first thing, got some things done I've been putting off. Finally sent a letter off to a friend who doesn't like emails and sent a charity parcel off using the last of my RM survey stamps.

Have finished making my bed-that took an age
Have also given the floor a wipe in the bedroom

Have been sorting out more items for another charity parcel including some of DD and DN beanies that they collected when younger-there are loads of them that have just been packed up. Sorted out the duplicates ready to send off, rather a child have some joy from them instead of them being stuck in storage,it's raising some funds for charity and its doing me a favour as i am determined to keep sorting out things out of the house albeit rather slowly but it is a good feeling
This box will be a big box this time so checked out the cheapest options to send the parcel by.

All banking checked and up to date
    Fridge triaged
Got to finish wrapping DD BF birthday presents, have fallen behind on this and can't find one present-serves me right for trying to be organised.
Must get myself booked in for an eye test.

Early night tonight to rest up arm and leg but hoping to vacuum kitchen floor before I rest up.
Think that's about it from me, have a great evening everyone x

Lovely money-saving day out today on Cumbrae. DW delighted to spot and photograph a Kestrel up on a cliff. (The Kestrel was on the cliff...not DW...:rotfl:)

    * Took a flask of coffee and snacks.

    * Treated ourselves by taking the car over on the ferry...cost an extra £7 over what we would pay for the ferry and the bus. However, this gave us access to the whole island and DW could take ALL her photogra-faffing kit over, which made her deliriously happy. We made sure we spent the whole day over there to get the most out of the extra £7.

    * Did not buy lunch in the cafe that wanted £9.85 for a jacket potato.

    * Was going to get ferry 10 miles away to where friend has just opened a bar. Decided, instead, to get ferry from end of road to another island and miss the pub trip.

    * Meanwhile DW's ancient laptop sold for £50 on eBay in less than 45 mins! Immediately gave her the cash to part re-pay the money she loaned me for a newer car. It was "her" laptop but I originally paid for it. In under 5 weeks I'll have repaid the whole informal loan from DW. Then I can start rebuilding my Joy Fund.

Ally - £9.85 for a jacket spud  I thought £8.50 for 2 pints of cider in Newcastle was horrific.
Yesterday was a bit of a write off - my hangover coupled with hay fever and my ear thing made me feel quite rubbish generally.
However I kept the faith with the little things and spent much of the day playing taxi driver for the kids to visit their dad, and I had an early night last night. I have still managed to wake up with a bit of a headache this morning but I think it's fairly normal feeling like this after a long and stressy term at work finishes.
Today's plans - tutoring, visiting my mam and a bit of crochet and box set. I'm watching old episodes of Dr Who...

Morning all :hello: lovely few days away. Decided not to eat out and treated ourselves to fish and chips instead. Lovely. And our £60 voucher is still in tact.

Got paid whilst away so did the money shuffle and topped up various pots. Paid most of washing machine of 0% interest card too without touching EF. Rest will go at end of the pay month of when I get paid again.

    Other things to do today:
Fill in insurance form so I can take to doctors tomorrow
    Meals from stores
    Small to prepaid swimming lessons
DH working overtime but not til this afternoon and he will be late home
Wrap DH birthday gift from smalls
Pop to town and get card from smalls from cheap shop. Make list of other cards I need for next couple of months whilst I am there
    Dye hair at home
    Water garden later
Do a meal plan for the week
Sort childcare ‘rota’ for September I know it’s a way off but I want to know I am covered.
Double check my new budget from September as I get to start a clean sheet on my workbook :A I have put in some additional stretching savings and want to just double check a few things as we are also looking to open some long term investment things too
Phew, think that will do for today!

    Have a good day everyone.
  • Morning folks

Back in work for me and generally feeling destroyed from competition yesterday, combined with a couple of celebratory ciders.

Today will be a normal work-type day. Lots to do and less time to do it!

Having said that, I might have some interesting finance related news later...
