Morning folks
Hugs to everyone who needs them.
I can't really offer an opinion on being a mum as I don't have kiddies, but my dad worked all the hours under the sun when we were young. Not only did it cause upset between him and mum, but it meant that not only was he often out, when he was home he was too tired to spend any time with me and my brother. Unlike ccl, he never took holidays and never spent any real time with us. It has irrevocably fractured the relationship between him and my brother. I'm pretty laid back about it, but I wish I knew him better. I think I'd take time over money any time
Work today has the potential to go either way. I have already been thrown a rather large curve ball.
Today's mission:- B/L/D from stores
- Gym at lunchtime - done
- Ask OH to look out for my earring back that has vanished - no joy here
- Charge phone in work - done
- Check garden and water greenhouse
- OH to do housework
- Not going out after work as will be working later
- Msg freegler

Morning (just!) everyone!
Long term lurker, first time posting :-) I've followed this site for years and have enjoyed all the advice and tips, but I think its time to get more involved!
This is my first month ever of keeping a spending diary. I know I fritter money, and I'm trying to be better this month, but still allow myself to be 'me' so I can track what rubbish I buy, what triggers it, and how I can help myself for next month to be better. August is my 'get a freaking grip' month haha!
Things to do this week - keep up the spending diary! Finish stock checking the food cupboard (1/4 to go!) and get a list of the foods in the freezer.
I've bought myself some small brown envelopes to break down the spending for next month. Will work on a system this week to get ahead for August. Thinking if I do the food budget weekly into an envelope, then I can only spend what's in the envelope?

Afternoon all

Shocking night again, as DD and her OH were at A&E with baby GS again
so I babysat the other child till 1am, then had to drive home, and then couldn't get off to sleep. Baby has tummy / digestive problems, probably caused by the effects of recent tummy bug they have had, according to the doctors. It was a really nasty bug, I am still not back to normal / eating properly after having it a week ago, so not surprising it is still affecting a little baby
Anyway, he has different medicine now, so hopefully that will do the trick. He slept all night (well. from 1 am anyway), and seemed ok this morning.
With all the drama and still not being 100% myself, I didn't get up until after 10 this morning, which is unheard of for me
Plans are suitably modest:
Check banks and update spreadsheet, must also update from spending diary
Water garden pots
Feed tomatoes
Pick spinach and anything else that is ready
Take a couple of items to sales unit
Need to buy some feta, peppers and tomatoes for things I want to make
Buy items for food bank donation, as this seems to have slipped this month. I must check their FB page first, to see what is most urgent this month.
All food made at home (even though I don't feel like cooking - I will get OH to help!)
Hoping for a better night's sleep, as I scarcely feel human today

Dawn - I really hope the little one is on the up soon. Sounds really unpleasant. Lots of love to you and the family.
I am utterly exhausted tonight. So very tired. Bagged another nsd but an emotionally exhausting day at school. Too much going on for my little brain to deal with. Dinner has been planned and is on the go, and then I think I'm going to have a very early night. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
