I agree about the hot weather and food. I struggle to cook a meal, then eat it unless it's quick cook like stir fry or a microwave meal from the freezer.
Not long now to wait for that Ist cuddle :j
Nelski I did a full roast and look where it got me :rotfl:
Everyday's a skool day....Toby carvery next week then....or popcorn at the circus :rotfl:
glad mr fix it is back on track x0 -
Tru my condolences for your loss I too am in the tell him sooner rather than later How unfeeling to put it on social media though.
I looked at the temprture thing in my garden at lunchtime at it was reading 36c so I am hiding indoors at my DDs sitting in the lovely air conditioned sitting room which is gorgeous.
It really is far too warm to do anything at the moment DGS Danny has just messaged me from NYC and said the subway this morning was so uncomfortable and passengers were flaking out in the heat, he said until it gets cooler he is going to walk the ten blocks to his office, don't know which is worse though
I have got iced water which I am drinking by the gallon at the moment I think when the weather does break, hopefully we will have a good storm to clear the air

Afternoon folks. Back from the hospital and still no nearer with a diagnosis. Gastroscopy/endoscopy revealed nothing untoward. No blockages in the throat or oesophagus and no change in his long standing Barrett's disease. I am still convinced it's gastroparesis as he has every symptom on the list. And I am also convinced it's connected to the neuropathy as both are caused by nerve and muscle damage. The Neurologist poo-pood the idea when we last saw him and said not!! A GP appointment already been booked (next Monday) to discuss the outcome of the tests, await biopsies and decide what to do next. Meanwhile Mr TA has now lost almost 3 stone through his inability to digest stuff and is living off nutrishakes and soup. I really do despair over it all.
You have hit on a sore point there FLOSS!! For the first couple of years of Mr TA's illnesses/treatments etc. I sent multi-message texts to friends and family after every appointment to keep them up to date. Mr TA said I shouldn't be stressing myself out and made me promise not to do it any more. (Kids obviously being an exception) In his opinion anyone concerned would ring us. My DB and SIL, his DB and SIL and various close friends do just that. His younger sis is a bit hit and miss but Me-Me too full of herself to think about it. He is understandably hurt and I can't bring myself to be civil with her on the rare occasions we do meet. Rant of the day over!!
It feels marginally cooler today but that's maybe because we have cloud cover and no sun! I gather certain areas have had rain but, since the 5 minutes we got Friday night, there has been nothing since. Some of the plants, especially the lavender, are looking decidedly sad and neglected despite trying to keep up to watering them.
I think I may just have a nana nap now. Nothing like stress and worry (not to mention sleepless nights!) to tire you out is there? Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Now it is cooler I have just had a brunch of low fat sausages, bacon medallions and eggs on a small slice of wholemeal bread and am putting my feet up with a cold diet drink. I have been trying to avoid using an oven etc but the hot air fryer means the kitchen does not get hot and I can use a timer and leave the kitchen.
I have wrapped up a set of twenty baby and toddler books in pretty baby paper and a pink ribbon ready for when baby arrives. The offer of ten books for £10 was just too good to resist last week.0 -
Tru I am so sorry for your loss. x
Imho, Faceache is a totally inappropriate place to make that sort of announcement.
In some ways I'm glad I don't have family - at least I don't have the complications that relatives seem to bring with them. The only other person Mr LW really has is a sister who we get a Xmas card from, but otherwise haven't heard from since 2010, when his other sister died.
I'm leaving it to him if he tells her of his illness or not.
Not my circus, not my monkey, really and truly. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
TA
I am so sorry the appointment did not give you any answers or solutions. Is it worth asking for a second opinion rather than accepting what the consultant said?

Have you thought of a trip to the seaside (just you two) and fish and chips next Sunday? The stress cannot be good for you both.

Afternoon all,
Cloudy and dull here now, with rain earlier.Still some hot spots on our moors and the rain seems to make the smell worse for a bit.Nannywindow,I'm sorry that your mountain has been set on fire too  ,I despair of idiotic people sometimes.
Tru I'm really sorry to hear of your Nan's passing, & how thoughtless to put it on Social media.I hope you have spoken to your DDad now, whatever you decided.Hugs x
TA,glad that nothing further has shown up,but on the other hand you need someone to find a solution so you can build Mr TA up-it's such a lot of weight to lose x
Elona,not long now then
We had a lovely day yesterday as our Godson was taking part in Ironman and we went down to the town centre finish. We saw him pass on his 3rd & 4th circuit of the run and cross the line :T Made me tired just thinking about it! In between we sat outside just off the square and had a few drinks with our best friends(his parents) and some other friends who had come down to support him, and he had a couple of coffees when he emerged. We wished we'd had something to eat in the afternoon as it was a lot later than expected when we got home & I didnt want to cook then.Managed to cobble something together though :rotfl:
Was back in town again this morning as it's DS2s birthday tomorrow and I hadn't got cards or pressie,so all sorted now.
Off to the vets in a bit for a check up after her ear & eye infection. Her ears seem fine but eyes are still a bit watery so will have to see what he says.
Hope you all have a peaceful evening xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
DD's arrived at their hotel in Norwich and they have had some rain ,lucky so and so's She said its very black at the moment and she is hoping for a storm. The boys and the dogs and I are huddled round the air con as there seems to be little or no air around at the moment.
DGS Mikey has his school sports day tomorrow, DGS Henry is doing work experience in a local butchers for a week and he hates it but all the boys doing their A's have to do a week at a job of sorts He has been making beefburgers in a press all day and he says the smell is horrible. I think he's gone off meat at the moment .
Jack came home from his young lady's house and walked the dogs for me bless him.
I am just about to have yet another cup of tea
I am getting fed up of the heat now and just want some fresh air and some nice gentle rain:):)
