TA why don't you get Mr a urinary bottle for the night time. It would stop him having to get up every time he needs to go, especially if he is a bit unsteady on his feet. They're quite inexpensive.
We've had a busy couple of days walking. On Friday we walked from Scarborough to Ravenscar which we though was about 7 miles and turned out to be 10 - I was in bed and asleep by 8.30. Yesterday we only went from Robin Hoods Bay to Ravenscar which was about 3 and a half miles but the last stretch was a steep climb. I didn't feel so bad afterwards. Today is going to be a lazy day but on Monday will walk from Robin Hoods Bay to Whitby. The scenery is spectacular and luckily there has been enough of a sea breeze that it's not been unbearable.
We had fish and chips in Whitby - we searched out the place James Martin raves about. All I can say is that he must be being paid (sorry Nelski), they were very average. If anyone wants really good fish and chips try No1 Cromer or the Old Hall Inn at Threshfield.0 -
Morning,
One load of washing in WM and another one ready to go in. No rain forecast for today.
Today I will watch the Cup Final and the tennis - while nipping in and out of the garden to catch the sun.
There is an event on in a local - music and stalls today. I will pop across for an hour and see what is on. It is the first year that it has not rained.

Good morning everyone :hello:
It's forecast to be really hot and sunny again today so I will be hiding in the house with the fans on and the blinds drawn. On the plus side, the grass has stopped growing so Steve didn't have to drag the lawn mower out this week.
I did get quite a lot of sleep last night so I feel vaguely human and I have just scoffed a bacon and egg sandwich which certainly brightened my morning. Steve and the kids are fast asleep still. I hope Steve has a good long lie in as he is back to work tomorrow after having a week off. I will certainly miss having him around the house but I have the kids to keep me company.
I need to make a doctors appointment for myself as my legs are full of fluid (and chocolate) and it is painful so hopefully some water tablets will help with that. I will try the new system again where it you fill in an online questionnaire and get a reply within 24 hours.
Steve is in charge of cooking today and we are having pork loin chops dipped in stuffing and baked with new potatoes and veg. I am sick to death of salad plus it really doesn't agree with me so will be glad to have cooked veg and gravy even though it is really hot outside. Apple crumble for pudding and water melon for those that don't want a hot pudding.
dp1, The Greatest Showman is my absolute favourite film, I bought the cd as well so I can belt out the songs at my desk :rotfl:.
Welcome back nmlc, glad you had a nice time away and great to come back to a clean and tidy home (not suspicious at all:D)
Well, I am going to go and dressed for a change and I am not sure what I will be doing today. Probably just pottering round. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Snoozer I've done the Whitby to Robin Hoods bay walk, its lovely. And was that chippy the b&w building on the harbour? I have very fond childhood memories of that place2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

SNOOZER He already has one. I got it for through the day to save him struggling up and down the stairs so much. I just hope Urology respond quickly to the Oncology nurse's message. I really don't know what good this stent is supposed to be doing as he couldn't possibly be any worse without it in. His previous two gave him no problems but this is a different story."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Good Morning everyone and another warm day ahead by the looks of things. had a lovely evening last night at my youngest DDs when we had a family dinner for my OH's anniversary Can't believe its 15 years that have just flown by.But we had lots of laughs talking about him and his ways that made us all laugh.
this morning its far too hot to do much so I will probably sit and listen to The Archers while finishing off my DGGD's blanket.
Later I will be going to Dd's as usual for dinner so not a lot of cooking for me to do today I know we are having roast lamb which is our favourite.
Tomorrow DD and my son-in-law are off after work to Norwich as its my DGS Ben's graduation on Tuesday so I will be at their home taking care of the two little dogs and three larger grandsons.I have a large lasagne in the freezer which I will take round there with me today for tomorrow nights dinner.
I have a little bit of ironing that I may do later but not a lot as I have become a folder and putter away with all this warm weather and have cut back a great deal on the ironing front:)
I am reading my Book club book as well a Margaret Atwood book called The Heart goes Last, which at first I though may have been a slushy novel, but it really isn't its a bit scary to be honest.
Right time for a cuppa, keep as cool and hydrated as you can folks and watch out for those awful horseflies as their bite is nasty, my DGD has got an infected one and is on antibiotics
Cheers chums

TA, I sympathise - DH had a stent put in while he was waiting for his kidney stone to be removed (it was too big to use ultrasound on and was blocking a tube. It was supposed to be in for 2 weeks but was actually in 12 and caused him a lot of misery. When the surgeon took it out he said the end was scratching his bladder which was the cause of him wanting to go all the time. Maybe its the same for Mr TA with this one.
Floss, yes, that is the one.0 -

It's St Swithin's day, no idea why or how I know. Legend says if it rains today it will rain for 40 days and 40 nights... I'm so hot yes please
Not planning much today, just try and keep out of the sun.
Hope you all have a good day
My mum mentioned this last week, it's my niece's birthday today and when we were planning how to celebrate, to bbq or not to bbq, mum mentioned that it was forecast to rain today and that it was St Swithin's Day. But we ended up having a big rain storm on Friday and today is forecast to be sunny here
Must get the dogs out before it gets too hot, have a lovely day everyone0 -
Morning all
Beautiful day here again, we went and looked at slabs yesterday but really got there too late and we only had about 5 mins to look, we did see one we both liked but I am having doubts now so will have to go back and look
Off to see dd's house today, the woman is there moving out and she wants dd to go and look at the furniture she may be leaving and see if dd wants it, if not the lady will get rid of it, it will probably do dd for a start even if she doesn't want it long term.
BBQ tonight with salad and new pots, I have been boiling the spuds till almost done then wrapping in foil adding butter and garlic and crisping off on the bbq, they are delish !!
We did not get round to cutting the hedge yesterday so that's on todays list, although I did manage about an hours worth of gardening before the heat got to me, so it looks a bit tidier out there.
Right need to get on have good days all xx0
