UKCPM - All appeals must be done by postal?

I found my car with PCN windscreen ticket from UK Car Park Management Ltd.

I have just received a formal demand letter from UKCPM which I guess is a Notice To Keeper - I was prepared to take the template appeal found from NEWBIES post and have it sent via online or email.

Except there's no appeal online available with UKCPM - it appears that all appeals must be made in written and sent via postal (I can't post link but please visit their website and check out Appeals Centre section)

Should I send my appeal via post?

Thanks - I'm not sure I follow - don't send appeal as registered?

I intend to take the template and send as keeper of the car.

Registered (as in registered mail, or signed for mail, or recorded delivery post). Send it first class with a free Certificate of Posting via your local PO counter. Deemed delivered 2 working days later.

Work it out - what if the PPC refuses to sign for your 'registered/signed for/recorded delivery letter?

Registered is the old term for signed for delivery. Normal cost for that is £1.77

Don't use that. Use ordinary first class post.

Formal demand indeed ?????? That means "please pay
    us our scam money" :rotfl:

You have been given the address above and your letter
is deemed to be delivered in 2 working days.

As they subscribe to the great IPC scam set up by the
incompetent Gladstones solicitors, expect a rejection.

The mentality of UKCPM is that of a child.

    THEY SAY ...
"Failure to pay the PCN within 28 days may result in your case being passed to our debt recovery agents, Debt Recovery Plus LTD. Please note an additional £49 will be added to your case once it has been exported. At this point CPM will be unable to mediate regarding your PCN."

Not only is DRP exposed here ...
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/74523639#Comment_74523639

It's the £49 they think they can add on which clearly
shows the mentality of CPM ........ DRP offer a "no win-no fee"
service so by ignoring DRP, as you should, it's free to CPM
so it's another way to extort money from you

Anyway, see what they say, it's only a first class stamp

And, as a further thought about CPM, they operate a litter
picking service for free. If the council is charging you, contact
CPM for a free pick up

There is no such thing as registered post and (even if this was not a letter to a scammer who won't sign for it) it would be madness to send that to a PO BOX and expect the 'box' to sign for it!

Also, UKCPM cases are all the same and it's been discussed before that you have to post an appeal. It would have been quicker to search the forum for UKCPM appeal rather than see another thread about such a minor detail, for an appeal that will not work, to a firm who are in the end going to serve a county court claim anyway (which is where you will likely win).

What I am saying is, this is such a 'nothing' stage.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

    Good afternoon people,

I've read this forum and I've sent a template appeal letter to UK CPM. I have just received a letter explaining that my appeal has been unsuccessful and I have to pay a full fee of £100.

What is the best course of action now? I'm happy to send a letter as attachment to anyone if they provide email, of course all personal information will be blacked out.

    Thanks for your help,

    Daniel
