Morning,
A leisurely cuppa and breakfast had, now to decide what to do. DD is away for the weekend, so there is nowhere that I have to be at certain times today. As ever, I am in danger of wasting the day. First up, get dressed, then I think I will potter to the allotment to see if the hour of rain yesterday made any difference. Given that the water butts only managed to collect a couple of inches, I am not holding out a lot of hope.
I think DH has plans for me to do jobs for him, so I had better get out of the way fast....;)
Have a lovely day all.0 -
Awake (to my horror) at 6.30am.
I suspect it has something to do with the Portacabin Site Office that has been unceremoniously dumped on the pavement/partially obscuring the bend in the (one way because it's too narrow) road outside, as yesterday morning we awoke to the dulcet tones of an older builder-type in there proclaiming with lots of Fs and Cs how *********** stupid it was to 'have a ********** woman in charge of a building project' roughly 15 foot from our bedroom window. Sounds like there are a few at work on the site this morning, going by the rubbish radio noises, but at least they'll be done by midday.
Unfortunately, I only dozed off intermittently after that and I've got a fuzzy, achy head as a result.
So I'm thinking of having a bath and pretending this morning didn't happen, as although the kitchen is quite organised, Himself's very nice curry last night means it desperately needs cleaning. And finding brand new pure orange had been on the counter all night really annoys me, as room temperature drinks are foul - so I've shoved it in the fridge and it'll hopefully be drinkable by the time he wakes up.
I'll have a quick swish around the bathroom once I'm done, then I'm staying indoors. It's still too hot, it's still too sunny and I'm heartily fed up of feeling slightly fried despite sunblock daily - and the almost constant overheating/risking heatstroke.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I have a dog for the weekend.
Flying can wait.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
So soorry I didn't make it to post a list for Friday.
Thurdsay was y3/y4 Barn Dance so I volunteered (because my friends work in Y3) and that's how I roll. Friday was school summer fair but I got shunted out of class into office as Clerk was off; on the + side I will get teacher's wages for the morning (because that's my contract) and I got most of the 3 HUGE deliveries checked off and matched against delivery notes/orders and shunted off to classrooms c/o willing Y6 children pressed into service. And I had 'accidentally' booked my car in for service & MoT too (garage in village, fortunately, so can walk there).
So, naturally house is minging.
So far today washing on line and carp decluttered to chazzer and washing up etc done.

Accounts up to date after a manic few weeks, WM x 2 and out on the line, pear tree watered, pizza sauce made with various things that have been cluttering up the fridge, tin and jar cupboard for a long time, and it tastes rather jolly.
A neighbour brought his pressure washer round and zapped the really bad areas on the walls in the yard - he owes us a favour. He says he's coming back to clear up all the detritus after the England game. If he's sober it should be okay, but I rather fear he'll be in no fit state regardless of the score.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning
Failed to sleep as the toe rags around here were still playing loud music, at 2am, I know I am deaf but it had a bang bang base sound on and on it went, OH as he had been at the local beer festival which finished at 10pm slept right through it all.
So far kitchen is done.
Not too sure what I am doing today, but I have just brought down from ther loft before it gets too hot, 3 metal cabinets of paperwork, now these 3 have been up there for about 3 years, so goodness knows what is in them, I have a feeling the shredder is going to be on over time.

Managed to clean the kitchen yesterday before I succumbed to some bug and had D&v. I rather think it might have been what I ate. Not sure. Feel perkier now, but tender. Went to bed at 9:30.
Had a bit of a fitful night.
On a positive note I had planned to clean the bathroom but didn't, and it is probably more desperate now.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hope you feel much better today, valli.
6am today. No idea what or how that happened, especially as I was still awake at 2am with a headache, despite paras and taking a freezer pack wrapped up in a towel to bed. Chilled pillows are nice.
However, I have completely sorted the top of the dressing table and now have the bits of makeup I might actually use available.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
ATB shredding is WIP the shredder has stopped due to being too hot, I have over worked it.
I have sorted paperwork, to contain the papers while working, one wash basket full for recycling, ie not personal details, one wash basket 3/4 for shredding, all wanted papers back in neat, label, date ordered.
Why did I keep bank statements from 2006? payslips from 1998, and so on............Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
