Password reset loop

Hello i got into a loop where I was unable to request a password reset. I typed my email but mse said email did not exist. I even tried to register but mse said my email existed.

I think the problem is that mse is expecting an exact case email match for reset but any case email match for registration. My keyboard was defaulting to the first letter being capital when I changed it to lower case it was okay. Plz fix.

Yes, you need to type your email address exactly as you did when you joined.

Some forumites have found their computers automatically capitalise and then auto-fill with the wrong case so they find themselves in a loop.
