Hi folks,

Did you use/contact Intelligent Insurance? If so, we'd love to hear your feedback, such as:

- Your overall experience

Thank you,

  • The building & contents insurance quote given was a third more than my original renewal quote elsewhere. The quote took a good half hour. Wish I hadn't bothered.

    The reviews don't look great
  • Have been with Intelligent Insurance for 2 years, having received an excellent quote for Home Insurance.

This year, they increased my premium by £300 per annum - when I phoned them to check they said the underwriter is no longer offering insurance (II is the broker) nd that this was now the best offer.

Needless to say I will have to shop around again.

Beware - I would not recommend!

The underwriting assessment took longer than usual, >15minutes

At the end, the quote was 3X dearer than the top 5 most competitive quotes I received, which were from the likes of L&G, Aviva and LV. This firm are even more than 100 quid above Directline!

NOT WASTING ANYMORE TIME ON FUTURE QUOTES WITH THESE GUYS. I WILL SURELY REMEMBER THEIR NAME (FOR THE WRONG REASONS UNFORTUNATELY!)
  • Just used Intelligent Insurance-best quote I have had for my home while it is empty and up for sale. Less than half the price of the other quotes I was given. Yes the quotes took a long time to get but they were very thorough and helpful explaining everything. Very pleased.
  • We've been with II for home insurance for a couple of years. The initial process was a bit off-putting, lots of detailed security requirements that we didn't get from other insurers, but in the end the price was good. We haven't needed to make a claim so don't know what that would be like.

Renewal price was up a bit this year - not a huge hike but I decided to shop around a bit and used two comparison sites. On both II came up with by far the cheapest quote - and well below my renewal quote from them - but then in both cases when I tried to click through to follow up that quote, there was a message saying "technical difficulties" and asking me to phone them instead.

After a few days of waiting for this to be fixed, I did phone them and was told to go through the quote process on their own site instead.

My renewal Statement of Facts contains a whole lot of detail from that initial sign-up process that isn't asked by any comparison site I've visited, so I'm pretty sure that if I do work through their quote process I'll come up with much the same price as my renewal quote - although if I can summon up the patience I'll give it a try.

So my experience is: they appear to offer an extremely good quote on comparison sites, but you can't click through to take it up as you'd expect, you need in effect to do a whole new quote process directly with them which will be more complicated. It may be worth it in the end, but it probably won't be as cheap as the comparison site will have led you to believe.

Of course it might just be that I've messed up their systems by asking for a new quote on a property they already cover, and if you weren't in that situation the click through would work better - but still, be prepared for more detailed questions.

  • No but the reviews by people look bad!
  • Very poor website, premiums are excessive, excess for building and contents are extreme.
Not worth taking the time, i advise using fake contact number until you decide to purchase
  • My experience to date has been excellent. I have struggled to keep my home insurance down as we are in a coastal location and live near a river.
The website was very easy to use and it took me less than the 10 minutes suggested to input my details (it helped to have the rebuilding costs calculated beforehand!).
My quote came back at slightly over half of what I have been paying Sainsburys Bank. After checking some details on live chat, I logged on and paid with no issues.

There is supposed be a £45 Amazon voucher. We will see!
