And this is my point,0

What is?
Your posts are too short and lacking information0 -
Sorry my point is that irrespective of credit scoring, and the fact my credit score has significantly gone down. Clearly a default does have a detrimental affect on my ability to obtain credit. So whilst I take on board what you and many other kind contributors have said about the irrelevance of a credit score. A default Does have an negative effect, one which isn’t warranted or particularly helpful at this point.
Thanks Gary0 -
A default will have you viewed negatively by prospective lenders yes
Ignore any scores or ratings from the CRA's0 -

Hi thanks,
The saga continues.. I have again written to Lowell’s asking for proof of debt,
However in a plot twist instead of responding to me regarding the incorrect default,
They have written to me confirming they have now bought 3 more debts all pertaining the same address that I am disputing and all about 5 years ago. They obviously as they have received communication from are now chancing there arm. My concern is not so much the debt, because I k ow it isn’t me and when I first spoke to the CAB they educated me into unscrupulous way these companies can behave, my issue is at want point will or can they try and these accounts as defaults. It seems they have bought this debt all in the last year, and the dates are 4-5 yeras old. This is the first time they have written to me confirming the ownership of the debt. So I was just wondering if you had any advice as to how I stop these becoming defaults and getting Lowell to back off.
Thanks in advance0 -
The original creditors would have defaulted the account, Lowell just purchase defaulted debt. The default remains because they are not saying its not yours but that they are not pursuing it. If you moved out, didn't tell BGas or whoever moved in afterwards didn't tell BGas, or did but gave figures vastly different so that there has been unpaid for used energy, that could be the default.
If you are saying that there is other debts, then maybe you need to challenge further. Is it a case someone who moved in afterwards continued to use your data, or is it a case you moved out and things have defaulted after you have left.0 -
Thank you so what are you saying that these 3 new debts that have appeared and Lowell are now writing to me about are already defaulted and will shortly appear on my credit file also?????
This seems completely ridiculous that being the case.0 -
Why is it ridiculous?
Do you owe the money?
If so then they have all rights to report it against you0 -
No, I don’t that’s exactly why it’s ridiculous. My point is after I raise my concern and correspond with them they then pursue for even more. What makes it incredible is that the debt isn’t even in my name. So my question was can/will these defaulted accounts be added to my credit file or can I disputed them prior to this happening,
Many Thanks Gary0
