in Credit cards
I have had problems with a 2nd hand car - paid for with my credit card. I took the car back to the retailer twice & they failed to fix it. I have made a claim against my credit card & they say they want me to take the car back to the retailer for a third time. I don't want to/don't trust the dealer. Should I stand my ground with the credit card co,. I am aware i can take this to the financial ombudsman if I don't agree with the credit card co. final position. Should i threaten them with that now? Any advice gratefully received.

What are you asking for? They would be jointly liable to pay for repairs, but you'd need an independent engineer's report to justify any values.0

It looks like they are asking you to try the most time efficient resolution - S75 claims can take some time and require lots of paperwork such as an engineers report as stated above.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. asking you to give the merchant a 3rd chance to make things right isn't correct.
call the CC back and say you have lost faith in the merchants ability to sort the issue and you want to raise a claim.
claims with 2nd hand cars aren't always very simple but the card provider cant just push you back to the merchant when you've already tried.0
