I was born in Cornwall and have always lived here. Until I met my other half I was pretty closed minded about it all and assumed I would always be right here struggling. He has opened my eyes to the fact you can control your life and its up to you where your life goes.

Funny thought though, last time there was a "good fortune what would you do thread" I remember people posting their dreams that I thought were really achievable, but they didn't see it. I recall asking, why don't you go and do that?

How many of us think they are just dreams but really you could do it if you really wanted to? i mean, where you live is a choice isn't it?

I've watched those neighbour from hell shows in the past (to see if I'm on it :rotfl: ) and I sit there yelling at the telly 'why don't you bloody move then?' No house is worth that stress and in some cases being driven to murder or suicide. I can't understand why people don't do something about crappy situations when it's clearly taking over their lives.

This board is a perfect example, people are desperate to get away from the stress of debt and they do everything in their power to change it. Very rarely do we hear people moaning about having no money but not interested in finding ways to get out of the trap.

Well, I was brought up in a rural area but where I live now there's not a lot of grass (unless you count the weed patch I try to pass off as a lawn). And the estate over the other side of the main road is rather......interesting.

But the other day I was at my Mum and Dads, and they were talking about a friend of theirs who earns £100k+ per year, and I looked down at Natasha, and she smiled, and I thought 'He might earn £100k but he can't possibly feel any happier than I do right at this second'.

    I know, I'm a soppy cow! :rotfl:

Its not soppy its true I know exactly what you mean.

Theres a little old lady at work who says to me "I've had my luck for today-I woke up this morning"

I think she has the right idea ;)

Talking about making dreams coming true, I read somewhere that a goal is a dream with a completion date, dreams are great but if you want to achieve something you have to put a date to it and a plan.

I love where I am, nothing like Wiltshire at Halloween.

But seriously I wouldn't change anything. Going through this debt (and everything else) has made me the person I am. And I am very proud to be me.

Ok it would be nice to have more money and a nice shiny house, but that's not everything.

    I agree totally.

I've always wanted to go to Egypt and I've decided for my 30th birthday and to celebrate being debt free I will go.

This gives me 5 years to save up for it (ok if I get married or anything in the meantime this will change, maybe honeymoon) So 2012ish I will be holidaying in Egypt!

I think you really need to have 'I Day I will's' in your life, dreams that you will actually manage. They are what makes life interesting.
