Yup, I live in Coventry and it's not all that bad really! I'm a country girl priced out of her own turf. I want some chickens but OH won't let me, and if I'm honest I know it's a pipe dream. This is the best me and OH have ever had it, and it's fine. I know it sounds mad for someone with depression but I'm really quite a happy person.

I'm with you all the way on this one. We love it here but can't stay if we ever want to be out of debt.

I kow exactly what you mean about the depression thing too-I'm somehow depressed and content. Can't explain but I understand you.

And I'd love some chickens but no room in the garden!;)

Silver, firstly it doesn't have to be a pipe dream. Just tell him how much it means toyou to have chickens, and promise to feed and clean them out!!Oh sorry, had role reversal there with my kids yearning for a dog!!

As for the depression thing, i am the most positive and naturally happy person I know, but I have still suffered from depression, although the circumstnces were tragic and would drive anyone to it, but you recover and build on it to deal better in future. Don't see it as a negative thing, but part of life and building you personality and resistence.

When i win the lottery, i will pay your debts and buy you chickens and chicken coup.;)

A young man is walking down a road
towards a new town in the distance .
At a junction he sees an old man sitting near a rock
the young man asks the old man
"That town in the distance ,what is it like ?
    The old man responds
"what was the last place you were in like ?
"the young man says " I had many hopes when I arrived
took a good job ,but things started to go badly
lack of opportunity and bad influences made me look at the place in a diferent light ,so I moved on.
    The old man said
" This town is very similar."
A few hours passed and another man came to the same junction
with the same intention of heading for a new town .
He saw the old man and asked
"That town in the distance ,What is it like "
The old man again responded with the question
"What was the last town you were in like ?"
    The younger man said
" I didn't know too many folk when I arrived
Took a lowly job and lived amongst strangers
I soon got intersted in my work ,met new freinds and helped my neighbours and they helped me .In fact I am sad to have left ,but I have my reasons to move on "
    The old man said
" This town is the same "

It's cool! People who think it in a bad way don't say it. Well, not to my face

Toto, that reminds me of a saying, if life throws you lemons, you should make lemonade

Funny thought though, last time there was a "good fortune what would you do thread" I remember people posting their dreams that I thought were really achievable, but they didn't see it. I recall asking, why don't you go and do that?

How many of us think they are just dreams but really you could do it if you really wanted to? i mean, where you live is a choice isn't it?

Well, I was brought up in a rural area but where I live now there's not a lot of grass (unless you count the weed patch I try to pass off as a lawn). And the estate over the other side of the main road is rather......interesting.

But the other day I was at my Mum and Dads, and they were talking about a friend of theirs who earns £100k+ per year, and I looked down at Natasha, and she smiled, and I thought 'He might earn £100k but he can't possibly feel any happier than I do right at this second'.

    I know, I'm a soppy cow! :rotfl:
