    Cool story bro

If they were that amateurish they would have just changed the shocks.

Tell them to just change the shocks and springs then if you!!!8217;re that way any inclined.

Then take it to a different garage and pay for a duplication of the majority of the labour for the bottom arms to be rePlaced.

Exactly so pay them then. An hour labour is nothing, most garages won't open a bonnet for less than £50

Oh right I'll pay for their amateur service then and take it like a good little b*£ch then.[/QUOTE]

*whispers* Shhhhh, thats right, let it happen...

I'm really confused here. They've said the lower control arms needed replacing. You said "not happy, don't continue with work", why didn't you just say "proceed with the original job as I asked". Or are they saying it was impossible?". If it was impossible, then it'll be equally impossible to put them back on with the old shocks and springs. The defect has been agitated and usually there is little going back.

There's something really confusing about this situation. Like a chunk of information is missing.

If I didn't know better, I'd think you took it the first garage and then found out another garage was cheaper, so have asked the original garage to stop part way through completing the job and you are now unhappy that they've billed you accordingly. Luckily, I know better.

No I would rather they noticed these things before carrying out the work!

They can only do that by inspecting it which will incur a charge for labour. Sometimes faults don't come to light until you start to take things apart. As a former mechanic it comes as no surprise to me when I take my car into a garage to have work done and they say X, Y or Z needs doing as well. 99% of the time I'll OK the work because if I don't I still need to get it done but I end up paying for the labour twice, the first time the faulty part was removed as part of the repair I'd requested and again when it got replaced.

Already said that. Doubt he'll agree.

Are you old enough to drive a car? You sound about 14.

Sadly there are people in their mid 20s who apparently think they're adults who come out with comments like that. Something to do with still living with mummy and daddy and mummy cooking their meals, doing their laundry and still tidying their bedroom like they were 10 years old.

So you!!!8217;ve decided to pull the whole job from the garage because you!!!8217;ve had a better quote elsewhere. AFTER they started the job. In that case they are more than entitled to charge you for the work done.

I hope the next garage have to deal with lots of seized bolts and the labour charge go even higher for you.

That was certainly my interpretation, but like I said, luckily I know better. The OP is a genuinely honest person who must have been frustrated by the situation with the wishbone.....
