  • I decided a few months ago that getting my hair dyed is too expensive so i stopped doing it . Although i typically only get it done 3 times a year £55 a time is still fairly costly. I almost caved as I bought some hair dye yesterday - 2 for £12 as my grey was starting to bother me. However I have since returned it as in the grand scheme of things what us a few grey hairs! In my quest for simplicity I want to reduce things that stress me out and buying that dye did stress me out- debating whether I should/ would the colour suit me/last plus when would I get time to do it/ would it be messy and on and on went my brain so I decided just to return it, be £12 better off and just deal with the greying

    Hello,
    Nice to see you again.
I wish I could just say go grey and get on with it but I'm not brave enough yet. I agree with you, though. It is expensive. Maybe one day.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Ha well I may end up breaking but for the moment at least I'm sticking with the salt and pepper look :)

  • No spend today as just took the small person foraging for wild blackberries:) They are now in the freezer and I'm sure a crumble will be made with them at some point - did get some strange looks though from passers by

After a couple of weeks of feeling pretty terrible which I believe is probably my body not reacting well to stress, some beyond my control - work particularly lots of office politics which gets me down and others just endless ruminating and worrying I'm feeling slightly better and determined to just focus on the good rather than the 'bad' to that end I'm going to shamelessly steal greying pilgrims idea of 3 good things - I do hope she doesn't mind

    Grateful for
    1. Living in an area where we can access nature's bounty:)
2 For feeling better physically that I have all week
3 The joy of a good book - just finished the hearts invisible furies and it will stay with me
  • I have recently been informed that I have been overpaid childcare element of tax cr3d1ts so they have cut it right down for the next few months (Feb and March look very ropey) I have gone my calculations and I think I can just about manage if I'm very very frugal with the food budget £80 a month for me and the small one for all food and household, eek. It's only for a few months so will grin and bear it

Didn't want to read and run. That seems very harsh. Assume they can't reclaim it over a longer period? If not then hope you are able to manage, can you turn your cupboards out and do a use up challenge to stretch things a bit further. Hope it goes ok for you.

    Is work ok now?

Just read your diary and I like your positivity.

The tax credits are a little blip that you will get through. . . rubbish though!

I'm looking forward to growing my own this year also. I did tomatoes and runner beans last year and I loved it.

    Keep updating. I've subscribed.
    Let's be happy!!

I think they wanted to avoid it going into the next financial year and making things more complicated which I can understand. I think I could ask them to stagger it but I hate it hanging over my head so I think I will just try and endure it. It's only 2 months really and a good opportunity to clear out the cupboards. I had the letter warning me to expect a letter confirming the amount a few weeks ago and it finally arrived yesterday which was actually my birthday. Ha you have to laugh.

Work is ok thankyou. I'm trying to just keep my head down and not get involved:)
