That's good . Mine are separate but the gas was even more worse than the electric. They hadn't taken into account that we had a new more efficient boiler and hadn't had the heating on for a lot of the winter because we away on holiday. We are now paying less than £10.00 a month for gas. I think it pays to make sure bills are not estimated.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

Yes they are awfully sneaky ! £10 is impressive!
Last day of work for the week, I'm on 3 day weeks currently as my mother has broken their hip so she cant look after small person on a Friday for a while. I'm quite enjoying 3 day weeks, this is one of my (very long term aims) of paying my mortgage off early (or at last earlier) I have the freedom to work less. Although I'm on a fairly low income and its going to take me a very long time and need me to 'do without' on some level, most people around me who are a two income household appear to live pay check to pay check so maybe it's a state of mind rather than earning potential. This is what I'm telling myself anyway
Well best get on - porridge for breakfast, even in this heat0 -

Hello Smurphington and hope you don't mind me intruding. Glad we've been able to reduce your monthly payments. Thought it might be useful to let you know about an online tool that will help you keep an eye on how well your payments are covering the amount of energy being used. You can also change the monthly amount so payments keep up with different circumstances. Will help stop unwelcome letters too. It's the Direct Debit Manager and it's on our website.
Provided you've registered with our website and the account is billed up to the latest meter readings, payments can be changed by up to 20 per cent up or down. By up to 5 per cent up or down without readings. Before confirming the new amount, we'll let you know by how much we expect the account to be in credit/debit if the payments are changed but usage doesn't alter as expected. There's more about this tool on our website.
Monthly payments are based on current prices and past usage. As Toni'sfriend advised, giving regular meter readings is the best way to keep things accurate and thank you for letting us have your recent readings. Our aim is for accounts to have as near as possible to a zero balance by the annual payment review.
Generally, the longer customers are with us and give us regular readings, the more accurate payment arrangements will ultimately be. Although, as they're based on past usage, they're only estimates and will be affected by changes of circumstance or exceptional conditions like the Beast from the East. This is where the Direct Debit Manager helps as you can adjust arrangements to meet different circumstances.
Hope this is of interest Smurphington. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help. Hope your mother recovers soon too.

The small person is going to be a star in her summer concert at nursery so I have been given her the task of making her a costume. I have bought some gold ribbon, pipe cleaners and procured a cardboard box from work. Let's see what I can knock up0
-
I made the costume, made a sandwich board type thing in the shape of a star connected by elastic and covered it in tin foil. I also wrapped gold ribbon around an old head band and attached pipe cleaners with cardboard stars stuck on to act like 'deeley boppers ' . You can tell I spent a child hood watching blue Peter!
I'm really trying to cut down my grocery spending to £100 a month for food. I seem to buy things especially mr A's super 6 or other offers and although I'm not wasting them (I often batch cook) I'm doing this every week and therefore the monthly spend is higher than it could be. I'm considering just shopping for what I actually need rather than buying what's cheap and see if it has a positive effect on my budget
Planted some runner beans and repotted the toms. I bought some tom feed from Mr A as well as a chilli plant which I'm thinking of transferring to a grow bag
That's all for now, over and out0 -

Haha I'm not sure about that, but she seems pleased with it and I'm satisfied that i kept the costs down0

Nsp day today woop! A dinner using up random bits and bobs was actually nicer than expected roast sweet potato, honey roasted carrots and a few left over new potatoes with a portion of nut roast out the freezer with steamed brocolli (really went for the roast theme)
Work was stress ful as usual today and it cements my very long term goals of paying my mortgage down more quickly. I would love to work less hours and not be tied to a pay check. One can but dream0 -
I don't get the opportunity for much ys shopping as my usual haunt is Mr A and due to having LO and not being a driver I can't take advantage of the late night bargains
That being said I do pop in my local T3sc0 xpress and often manage to find bread reduced, which I'm thankful for as I do think it has become rather pricey especially the seeded variety which is the sort I like! Today i bought 3 loaves of h0avis superseeded for 43p each and the original cost for one was £1.55 - happy with that
