Wittering my way to simpler life

I am aiming to start putting £250 in my emergency fund plus £400 in savings a month. I have been doing the latter for a while but often dip into it for silly spending. On the topic of silly spending. I Smurphington pledge to buy no more clothes unless they are actually an essential ( possible underwear and socks) I have an over stuffed wardrobe and need to start being contented with what I do have rather than impulse buying things I simple don't need .0

Hello :hello: what a lovely philosophy to have and I couldn't agree more. There is so much 'stuff' in our lives (all at a cost) any reduction can only be good. I love growing stuff and don't have lots of space so often use pots so I can move them around. Treated myself to w blueberry bushes and some raspberry canes this year as soft fruit can be pricey and my two smalls hoover them up. I grew potatoes and tomatoes this year and last successfully. But I'd say grow what you enjoy eating and stagger the planting to avoid gluttons of stuff. Courgettes are easy to grow ( see note about gluttons!) as are salad leaves that you can cut and come again.
Good luck with your over paying, we are just getting rid of the last bit of debt and that will be our next aim. Will subscribe if you don't mind

Welcome Purple fairy , I don't mind at all. Thank you for the tips, I'm awfully new to all the growing malarkey so I'm sure I will start asking all sorts of obvious questions0

I have just received an unwelcome email from eon advising me that they have had to increase my direct debit payment from 67 to 90! That seems an awful jump

Do they have up to date meter readings or are they basing it on estimates.I have just received an unwelcome email from eon advising me that they have had to increase my direct debit payment from 67 to 90! That seems an awful jumpHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
I think it might be estimated as I haven't been asked to provide any0

I'd submit an accurate meter reading. My provider kept increasing mine and when I submitted a proper reading the DD nearly halved. I think you should probably be able to do it online or phone them.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0
