Installing printer on Vista problem.

It worked for me, for some strange reason =/

Tried this too, and it said "Searching for software on disk"

then "Couldn't find driver" > Check online or Set up later.

Lots of older hardware will not run on Vista. I had to buy a new printer in the end.

This isn't an old printer though, I have just bought it new, and it even says Vista on the box.

I'm still at a loss of what to do. :mad:

Any more ideas guys?

I think I would take it back then. Although you could try their help desk first have a look here:

Tried the so called 'Help' desk, they didn't seem to know what was wrong.

I need a printer, and there Must be some way of installing it..?

Check that link I put it in with "edit" after you read the first bit.

Thanks, but I have used that HP page, the 'installation problems' bit only has XP or older, no Vista.

Anyway, the printer I need to install now is a HP C5280.

have you tried plugging the usb cable into another usb socket when it asks, that sometimes gets vista looking for a new driver where as if it's in the same socket you first used it does not.
