Installing printer on Vista problem.

Try enabling UAC (Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control On and Off -> Tick the box then click Ok) then restart your pc, install the printer then disable UAC and restart
It worked for me, for some strange reason =/

Lots of older hardware will not run on Vista. I had to buy a new printer in the end.0

I think I would take it back then. Although you could try their help desk first have a look here:

Thanks, but I have used that HP page, the 'installation problems' bit only has XP or older, no Vista.
Anyway, the printer I need to install now is a HP C5280.

have you tried plugging the usb cable into another usb socket when it asks, that sometimes gets vista looking for a new driver where as if it's in the same socket you first used it does not.There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0
