#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided

#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now

#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing
  • i was surprised someone living in a 600k house sat dogs and the other was becoming a fireman.

I cannot bear to read anything against Sarah Beaney...i think she's FAB!
What I didn't understnd about tonights show...the couple in Aldershot (it was make or break for their relationship?)....they had £20k savings...the idea was to increase that ammount? but the house "sold" giving them £18k...so they LOST £2k??? in the end??

    or did i miss something

And the rich kids (the lazy bloke was so annoying)....living off the wealth of the previous generation I guess.

They add what they spend to the purchase price, fc123, so they would have recouped their £20,000 and made an £18,000 profit on top of that.

They paid £175,000, spent £32,000 (including £20,000 in savings) - total expenditure £207,000
    They sold for £225,000
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Derrr I get it now! Thanks!
  • That lass is okay while smiling but certainly aint worth any tissues, JD or no JD.

As to sexy voice - it is hormonal - with women mostly due to age of their first sexual intercourse/consecutive frequency during ‘early’ period and not a fitness indicator as some glossy magazine ‘researchers’ may suggest.

Main thing though – after reading this whole thread I still have no desire to see the new series, JD or no JD.

What I didn't quite get about that couple in Aldershot was, that they'd been married for 5 years and lived an a room in a relatives house which measured 10ft x 12ft. They wanted to save up for a place of their own, so they were buying a house to do up and sell. Why didn't they just live in it? They'd saved up £20k in 5 years. If they could afford to buy that house why couldn't they afford somewhere to live? In the 5 years they've been living with relatives how much have house prices gone up?

And the other couple - they had a (supposedly tight) £40k budget, yet spent £95k. Where do people's money come from? It seems to appear from nowhere.
