Cost - Total Replacement Rear Bumper Vectra?

I rather stupidly totally trashed the rear bumper of my Vectra C today, by driving it straight into a brick wall. :money:
What is the average replacement cost to replace such a bumper, and how do they match the colour?
Thanks in advance.

How old is your car?
Might be worth looking on ebay or breakers yard for a replacement.0 -

It's a Vectra C, so I am imagining from around 2007. I actually want the bumper replaced by a garage. I am personally not sure how the colour matching works.
I will replace the smashed lights myself though, and get the parts off Ebay as you suggest.0 -
I'd just find a matching bumper from scrapyard. £300 or so to respray and refit one. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

The cheapest way will be to buy a used bumper from a scrappy or eBay, and either find one the same colour or just live with the mismatch. There's a choice on eBay around the £50 mark, and fitting will not be onerous.
The most expensive will be to buy a new bumper from your nearest Vauxhall dealer, get it painted to match, blending the rear wings and tailgate to reduce the risk of a subtle colour mismatch. That's probably going to be into four figures, all in.
Of course, that assumes the damage is just to the bumper skin. Any damage below the skin will increase the cost.0 -
Vectra bumpers don't usually match anyway so get one from the scrappy0

It's an 11 yr old car. Unless you're planning on trading it in soon just buy secondhand bumper and fit it, don't worry about color matchingIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

New bumpers can be well over £500, even spraying to match could be half that - unless the car is particularly special to you then a breakers is the best bet and ask your local garage /bodyshop to fit it for you0

our 2004 vectra was written off after a rear-ending slightly cracked the bumper with no other damage...that should give you a clue, along with the £4-figure suggestion earlier.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

What do you need you know?
The insurer considered repair (and potential) costs too high vs the value of the car.0
