It would be worth rechecking your stats - almost certainly your speed will have been reduced and possibly by quite a bit.
    6 - Uptime: 0 days 09:47:26

    7 - Data rate: 848/5367

    8 - Maximum data rate: 1080/5488

    9 - Noise margin: 6.0/6.2

    10 - Line attenuation: 25.8/50.0

    12 - Data sent/received: 60.3M/1.7G

I've *never* seen a speedtest of over 4 download before in 10 years

The other issue is why your router didn't resync after it dropped out - sounds like a duff router to me so worth swapping back to your Plusnet one which you said you've had working with the new ISP before and didn't let you down on Plusnet.

I have two JL 'new' routers as well as the old PN one :o

That line is running on the standard profile with a target 6dB noise margin. It doesn't look to me as if they have done anything at all which leaves two possibilities.

You will continue getting the same problem
Some external noise source which was screwing you up has ceased (that could be something as mundane as a duff switch mode power supply either in your property or one within a quite short distance but I think you said you were pretty isolated).

If you lose sync because of a noise spike or just a generally increased noise level the router should resync at a lower speed if the noise is still present or at the old speed if it has gone. If that isn't happening it's worth trying your old Plusnet router which I think is an old Speedtouch one and they used to be good routers.

I wonder if certain weather situations make the issue worse? For example I had awful connection issues when it was windy. Eventually it turned out to be that our line passed through a tree and had been rubbed raw by the branches and wind moved the cable enough to cause a tiny break.
Might also be caused by rain in a bad joint open to the elements?

Dare I be really radical and say that we haven't had a problem ... yet ... this week.

My son has the same issue. He has had OR out 3 times so far. The engineer found a faulty connector box and replaced that, then 2nd visit, replaced the cable between the new external box and the main socket. 3rd visit he replaced another short piece of cable.

He told my son that there was a fault between his house and the street cabinet that affected both his phone and FTC connection, but he could not replace it until the fault re-appeared and was reported again as OR's rules stated full line replacements can only be done AFTER 2 visits.

So, keep on pestering JL and even take to tweeting each time your BB goes down. By including JL's twitter tag, you will be exposing your issue to all their customers, so they will be more likely to get a resolution as they won't want bad publicity.

Those stats suggest that it did automatically resync shortly after you rebooted it at 06:07 because the sync rate is different at 14:57 and the uptime doesn't go back to 06:07 but to 06:09 assuming the times come from the router stats.

Getting Openreach to admit and fix a line fault can be an issue, I had 5 visits without mine being fixed and gave up and went to cable. That was the HRDIS fault I mentioned where a bad joint generates electrical noise when the ADSL signal is present earlier. Several years later I got fed up with VM and went to OR based fibre. I once again had a line fault but fortunatelt the BT Wholesale line test http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ agreed there was a fault and it did get fixed first visit that time.

Sadly, they are my timings - I got up at 6 and realised there was no internet. Whilst tea was brewing, I connected to router (maybe 6.07) then once I had the data, I rebooted (maybe 6.09?) and poured the tea! :D

Sadly the options here are few.
Our local exchange was fibre enabled earlier this year, but it's about 3Km from here and FTTP is not available.
As for VM - who? ;)

This will not help your problem as it is their end, but if you are a fiddler ..... https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/plusnet/fast2704nv1

Also this will not help your problem but if you want a better router then a vigor 2820n or the better 2830n are now old, but very good and on ebay for around £35. It s not the best router but at that price it is hard to beat

Should I liken this to driving too fast down our rural (single track) roads and then crashing the car?
