I think me and Mar should start a prepper colony somewhere lol..
After this mornings shenannigins in the courts I think this thread could turn into the longest one in history...
I really can't see it ever happening but did have a little chuckle at the heavens opening and thunder and lightning while they read the verdict..0 -

Goodness me the supreme court pulled a blinder, PM not just awful but unlawful:eek:
I was so surprised I woofed an entire pot noodle AND a tin of stash crab!!
No doubt the political stuff will rumble on (and on) and I'll certainly continue topping up my supplies, but it seems like a cloud of anxiety has lifted, a bit of welcome respite. How's everyone else feeling about it?0 -
I'm glad I went shopping this morning!Spend less now, work less later.0

DTR I just can't even begin to explain...but will try
I see it from a very black and white view in that we were offered a vote, we voted and as far as votes usually go whatever 'side' wins that's what goes on.
That is how our democracy works..usually!
However you vote, sometimes your side wins, sometimes it loses but we all respect others opinions and abide by the result.
WHAT THE FLAMIN HELL IS GOING ON????
Regardless of how you voted are you not disgusted that an unelected person is basically running the country now?
I just don't understand how we are where we are and I am so cross that we are wasting so much time and money on such stuff when the country is falling apart!!!0 -
Cuddling some of my stash, under the table, deeply suspicious that anything's sorted yet.
When the furore has eased down (or while there's still daylight) I'll recheck my stores, get out into the garden & get happily muddy.
Leaving the radio switched off for a while - I do not have a heart condition or blood pressure issues yet but these are not times to count on keeping that way! Mud, however, is helpful.
Meanwhile good luck D3!

To be honest I'm not sure how I really feel. In a strange way at least I felt that October 31st may have brought some sort of resolution - whther we crashed out or TPTB managed to wangle/get offered some sort of deal. Now we are back in a maelstrom of will we/won't we/can we/should we, and no clear-cut leader amongst any of the MP's as far as I can see. It's as if we have fallen off a cliff and there doesn't seem to be any stopping.
Just seen that Boris Johnson has said he will respect the Supreme Court ruling about the suspension being unlawful. I suspect he knew that all along. In the past few weeks I have often felt that some of TPTB seem to treat running the country as some sort of game - the sort my kids used to play on the computer where you "build" your own world and move assets around according to how many points you had scored. If it all went wrong - no matter, just close the game and start again.
However, I am just going to do what I always do (and most of us I think) and get on with life as best I can looking after my family and friends first but trying to help those less fortunate when and where I can.0 -
I think that's why I'm so beyond frazzled with it all Dreaming.
We need a conclusion and a firm date(?) plan(?) or something!!
*look away DFV* or are we still going to be debating this in twenty years time *faints at the thought*0 -
Hi guys
I was deeply relieved this morning that the courts ruling put a stop to Moptops shenanigans for at least a few days. Nothing is resolved and I doubt it will for a while now so all I can do is prep for whatever, winter, job loss, Brexit, price rises. I feel totally helpless due to our current government and whatever the future government might be and my being organised for me and mine gives me a small sense of being in control.

Keep thinking of Blackadder II and giggling, he fibbed to queenie, off with his head surely! Historical or hysterical? And still whizzed on pot noodle yet so tired, if that's crashing out on a no meal I'll take any reprieve going..0
