Tips to save money to pay debt off quicker

PF, I feel for you. It's bad enough having to batten down the hatches where spending is concerned, without feeling ill at the same time.
Without knowing your circumstances I can't be too specific, but when trying to get rid of credit cards I always advise paying the minimum payment on all of them each month and throwing any extra money at the debt with the highest interest rate. If you do this consistently you will soon get rid of that card completely, and then you do the same thing with the 3 cards that are left.
It takes a while but you will get there in the end. Have fun making your plans. You'll feel a lot better when your campaign is in place.I believe that friends are quiet angels

I have been through my finances and rather than take out a consolidation loan I’m going to just do as much overtime as poss and overpay my credit cards. Snowballing I think it’s called!
I will have to stay motivated and focused but I’m determined to be debt free!
Hope everyone is well

please people when any insurances are up for renewal, go onto any cashback site and check them out before signing on the dotted line. just saved £215 by doing so on car insurance!! saved £55 on policy then will get £70 cashback after 3 months. xx0

Oh my goodness yes! Never, ever just renew policies without checking them out. I have actually forced my current provider to bring their quote down dramatically by trawling through other companies, telling my current provider what I can get cover for elsewhere and they caved in and brought their price down to be the lowest. It pays to be cheeky and it doesn't take that long.
Good luck with the credit cards Pixie. I would still throw everything I could at the credit card with the highest interest rate first and getting rid of it as soon as possible. I object to pouring my money into the pit of bank profits, but whatever works for you.
Keep going.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi there all. Welcome pixie! Sorry not been round much- no particular calamities just busy plodding along! I’ve been focussing on trying to rebuild my emergency pot after the car expenses from earlier in the year . How are things with you Monnagran? What news on the housing front? Xx0

Do you really want to know Loolooly?
I think that last time we spoke my buyer had sold to a developer who was waiting for planning permission to extend her house. Well 3 months on he didn't get it and said he would make up his mind what he was going to do. After waiting a couple of weeks my buyer decided for him and sold the house to someone else.
If all goes to plan, and if the past is anything to go by it doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of going to any sort of plan, we should be moving at the end of August. I won't be holding my breath, but you never know!
Glad you are soldiering on. It may not seem much day to day, but when you look back it is amazing how far you have come and how much worse it could have been if you'd done nothing.
Keep on keeping on.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi Loolooly, fingers crossed regarding your housing situation Monogran! I put my equity from my house sale after my split with hubby into a new property! The house is nice but I have a neighbour from hell. She is making me want to move ☹️
I’ve done 34 hours overtime this month so hoping I can overpay the card with highest interest rate on payday. I work in the NHS so my pay is dire!
Have a good week everyone.

Hi Pixie. Wow that is a lot of overtime - be careful to look after yourself. No amount of debt busting is worth poor health. Sorry to hear of your terrible neighbour. Been there myself a few years ago. So not funny
hoping for some improvements xx
