Tips to save money to pay debt off quicker

Good to hear from you Loolooly. I'm sorry that work is not a happy place, it doesn't help with the general mood, does it? Ive only had one place where I wasn't happy and fortunately I was old enough and experienced enough to let it wash over me.
I was a teacher in my working life and I had one school where the head was a real old maid and she didnt approve of my methods at all. I didn't stay there long, left to open my own completely wacky school where the children, parents and teachers had a wonderful time, the education was brilliant and was a financial disaster. We paid our way but mostly operated on a wing and a prayer. Which explains why I had no money when I retired, I cashed in my teacher's pension to please my ex. What a fool I was.
However, that's all water under the bridge. All I can say to you is, never mind about being happy at work. It's nice if that happens but it's work and you just have keep your mind on the money at the end of the month. After all, that's the only reason you are doing it. When all the debts are paid off you can look at doing something else if you can find something that suits you better.
I'm wondering how B17c is doing. She is working herself to a frazzle with all the shifts she is doing.
If you read this B17c, come back and report on your progress.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hello! Sorry, I'm here... it was my birthday and I went up to Scotland to see my mum!
Things are still ticking along, I'm managing to pay £600 a month off my aqua card so that is going down nicely, I need to have a tally up of everything and check I'm still on track. There is no overtime this month so I'll have to up my game on eBay to earn the extra money.
Hope everyone is ok, sorry I'm not on much! XCredit Card Debt:[STRIKE]£12991[/STRIKE] £12526

Good heavens B17c, you must almost have paid off that Aqua card by now. You have done so well?
Its nicer to hear from you again. I hope you had a nice Birthday and enjoyed being with your mum.
I am joining the both of you in juggling the pennies at the moment. Having paid out hundreds for searches, surveys etc. I am now faced with having to do it all again on another house. I do think that if sellers pull out after several months, having incurred al this debt for their buyers, they ought to reimburse their buyers, unless there is a very good reason for them not to follow through with the sale.
It's like paying a hefty deposit on something in a shop and the shop deciding not to sell it you but keeping the deposit.
However, that's my moan for the month.
Keep watching the pennies.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi B17c. You have managed so much overtime. Well done. I know it’s a shame there’s no more ot on one hand, but good to have a break from it for your own health! Nice to hear you’ve been to visit your mum too !🙂 hi Monnagran. Hope you are feeling ok and that this house business isn’t getting you down too much 😒. You are quite right re buyers pulling out- it’s akin to mis-selling albeit the other way round. They should have to cough up something - particularly where it’s just changing their mind. Grrr. Been feeling a little under the weather here lately. Hoping over the worst now and on the up. 👍. I’m not clearing the cc as quickly as I’d like. eBay selling not gone all that well. Looking for inspiration for money making lol. I’ve started prolific - seems to be better than some of the others. Best wishes to you both x:beer:0

Hi there! Just popping in to say hi and how are things with you both?0

Hi Loolooly, how are you and what on earth are you doing posting here in the middle of the night? Hope it's not meaning illness or chronic insomnia.
Here I have just started the journey of buying yet another bungalow. Everything crossed (except eyes) that this one sticks. It's needing an awful lot done to make it suitable - very 70s, heavily Artexed ceilings etc, - so that is going to be another saga.
Hope you are getting through life relatively unscathed.
No news of B17c? She is probably selling her body parts on EBay as we speak.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi there Monnagran. Ooh fingers crossed for this property for you. I was up at that unearthly hour as my son fell asleep really early as he was soooooo tired and therefore woke up in the middle of the night and didn’t drop off. I tried for hour and half but gave up at 3am and brought him downstairs. Got him back to sleep about 530 for 2 hours. !! Just as well I went to bed early too! Similar thing happened again tonight 🙄🙄. About 20 min later than last night. As such I will probably try to go to sleep shortly too. Oh the glamour of parenthood!! We have had a few trials and tribulations which have been heavy on the pocket but my emergency funds were there to make up the shortfall. Could have been worse. We plough on !! Spring is here. Heating has been off. All helps. I haven’t yet commented on your previous post re the school. Sounded fabulous and a real shame it wasn’t a financial success. Work is no better but I am feeling a bit better in myself about it. Even if it short lived- i hope the positivity stays a bit longer. X ttfn hope you are enjoying the dry weather and sunshine ☀️ x0

Welcome there, PF. Do come and join us. As you see, this thread is a bit sporadic. We only post as and when the spirit moves and real life allows.
We are all into locking purses and wallets, looking at our credit cards with loathing and avoiding them as though they were contaminated with the plague, slinging every stray penny into paying off debts and giving full rein to our inner Scrooge. We really are eating the elephant one bite at a time.
Come here anytime you like and join us in our whinges, complaints and occasional triumphs. It's more fun doing it together.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Thank you Monnagran I would love to join you all!
I’m ill in bed and feeling worried sick about money! So have been on the forums today reading and getting inspired! It’s just tackling it a bit at a time.
I think I’m so overwhelmed looking at the whole sorry mess!!! I’ll try to break it down into bite sized pieces! That way as I have a small victory it will keep me motivated.
I will list all my debts tomorrow and try to plan a strategy! I’ll keep you posted!
